That could be a sign of no touch screen, but I don't remember anything being mentioned about Apple's new phone having a stylus and I know that it is touch screen. Best I can tell it only has one physical button on the phone. Considering Samsung was releasing to compete with Apple's phone, maybe they dropped the stylus as well. I am still thinking there are going to be a couple of versions of this phone. Maybe the more direct replacement for the i730/i830 is on the way? i860?
The iPhone doesn't have a stylus, but the entire OS is designed for use with your fingers (even 2 finger gestures). Crossbow is basically just WM5 se. Using it w/out a stylus would require you to grow your fingernails out and file them to a point. Not even I am that dedicated.

I have thought about it!!!! The fingernail thing.

Nice Find... So we know it's a touchscreen, and the Verizon slide said Pocket PC OS, so it's a Pocket PC.
I like the new stylus location, but it makes it seems that the device will be used Landscape more than anything... hmmm, I like all these videos...

For some reason I have been tring to convince myself that I want the i760 more than the 6800 so I have been going back and forth with the pros and cons. I'm not really to enthusiastic that either one is a horizontal slider but I was thinking to my self, why do I like my vertical slider so much? And really its because of how easy it is to dial and navigate menus with the d-pad as oppose to all the horizontal sliders out there. But that really is the same for the 760. when i got to text or use ie or whatever, i dont think the horizontal slider will bother me whereas the 6800 will be a little more difficult to operate in that same way. Still kinda tossed here though... so many pros and cons.
I am praying to hear that the i760 WILL include WiFi. Otherwise I am anxiously waiting for the 6800 to be released, bceause that is looking like my next phone.
The i760 looks very impressive, but I dont understand why these phones keep coming out without WiFi capability.
Did you catch that he said that the stylus was a suprise to the Samsung reps who were present there to show off the phone?? Nice going Samsung.
Yeah I noticed that and had a chuckle, but normally the reps standing at the conference aren't extremely knowledgable about the product, they know just what the higherups wanted them to know, since they don't want them to reveal information that shouldn't be told. I went to CES last year and spent time talking to many of the people, and had to laugh at how little many of them knew, as they only repeat what they were told to repeat. Many of them simply said, "I didn't know that", or "How the hell do you know so much about this, we were just trained on it today, and this is the first time we are revealing it...". So it's quite funny to really ask them about the product, as they are basically repeating their "speech" that they learned before CES.

I have the same experience when I go to the Samsung Experience store in Manhattan. How does somebody spend 40 hours a week with all of these nextgen devices and know NOTHING about them?
Yup! Don't ya just love CES week? Got a new Samsung, new iPhone, and a new OQO ... all within a couple of days of each other.
And none of which will be available to pick up to check the fit for at least two months. I for one will try my very best to not rush to judgement on any of them.
For what it's worth, NEVER have I been successful at not rushing to judgement. Didn't someone define insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
LOL! I hear ya Wodin...

Ok everyone, I need your opinion on something from those of you with more experience than I.
I have been using my beloved i730 for almost a year and a half now. Have absolutely LOVED this forum! (I think I'm addicted) The only thing I've really missed from the i730 is a camera - there have been MANY times I have wanted to take a snapshot of something and been unable to (I'm not one to carry an extra camera...)
And I absolutely love the form factor of the i730 for many reasons, but mostly because I can do 1-handed dialing when looking up contacts. See, I have about 1000 contacts on my phone (needed for work) and I have the "record" button set to open the contacts - makes it really easy and quick to get to. Then I can just type in a name - all one handed - and within seconds i'm talking.
When I heard the i760 was coming with a camera, I started saving my pennies that very day! Now, it is obvious it is going to have a side-sliding keyboard and I don't know how that would work one-handed looking up contacts.
Does anyone have any experience with looking up contacts with a side-sliding keyboard?
I am really in a bind because my i730's screen just bit-the-dust, and I'm out a phone. I'm willing to wait a month or two the get the 6800 or i760, but now I'm concerned about looking up contacts quickly and easily one-handed.
If you've used a side-slider before and can comment, please give me your opinion. (Maybe I'll just have to move to Europe...
I can already tell that the build quality is solid.I could hear the slider when it closed just like the one we have on the i730.
The fact that you can use both the slide out and the cover controls at the same time is great!
I realy like black devices.
This will be my next device not the VX6800.

I agree, most of the times that I really appreciate the vertical slider is when I'm typing in phone numbers or numeric codes. With the numeric keypad on the face, this will take care of most of those situations. I really dislike typing long emails on the i730 because the keyboard is cramped and it's extremely top heavy when typing on it. I think typing long emails on the horizontal keyboard will be much more comfortable. Given that it's the same size (except for thickness) as the Blackjack is great. I've tried the Blackjack and it seems to be a great size for a phone.
That video is the best! That reporter looks like he just rolled out of bed after a 3 day bender and stumbled onto the showroom floor. What's this thing called?..Oh look what I found, a styus! The reps were surprised about that!..That will probably do something, unless it's just a teaser! I felt like I was watching Diggnation outtakes. Does anyone go to CES prepared?
