If it's to release in early Feb, it should be approved imminently.
Thought you'd all like to see this curiosity. If it's legit, we can stop spinning wheels and contemplate the prospect of an official ix30 successor in '07. You decide...

confused....
are you saying that the 760 might not be released until Feb 08? If so, that is a far ways off from July 07. And by the time it is released it will be outdated...
ETA- Disregard... My thread got messed up. I thought I was reading the most recent posts and it was from Nov 06...

Lol, that brings back memories. A good way for us to realize how close we actually might be to getting the i760! Finally!
i am hoping that the unusally quiet mrailing is busy secretly testing a new i760 with his bluetooth motorcycle helmet and preparing the setup guide and faq!!!
but i am sure he is just busy working and riding his new bike...
it is nice to hope!
I haven't gotten a chance to look through any of the documents yet, but this is just one more step to release, whenever that might be. And maybe Engadget will have it up in a few minutes with more analysis.
With a lack of anything else to do I decided to check the FCC site. I get an error no matter what link I try. I checked the above, as well as most all of the gadget blog posts regarding FCC approval. I tried searching A3LSCHi760 on the FCC site with no luck.
Anyone able to see the site? Am I just reading too much into what could be a server issue?
I think they like to release on Thursdays, so that would be the 19th.
Actually, they released the 6700 and 700w on Wednesdays. I always thought Verizon release dates were Wednesdays for the most part. Everyone in the 6800 thread is putting their weight on the 18th as well.
Any feedback from other VZW biz contacts? I called 2 different stores in the Manassas VA area and received nothing (not surprising). I was fishing to see if there was any training or visits by product management or CS training folks.
Sounds like our best bet is to find out if there is any input on the business account rep side of the house.
Same old sad story, but since you asked, emailed with two of our business reps this AM (I even noted the speculation that it would be released in the next week or two). Neither of them has heard anything.
So i called my rep again and told him i needed a definite release date or i will have to consider my other options for the 8 lines i need to replace now.
After pushing him...this is what he said.
There will be an announcement in the next 2 weeks but the device will not be available until mid-August. The i760 was delayed due to an "overlay" issue. I asked him what that meant and he said that the VZW marketing dept has added new software requirements for PDA devices that includes VZW specific applications. These were not part of the original load so they had to delay the release.
