Agreed with the good pastor, the posting that they have is the same for both the 10 best business smartphones and the 15 best business smartphones. They also have it with two different release dates.

You know, as we wait, I keep looking at the Kaiser too. It looks really sweet. It doesn't have the numeric pad on the front, but I don't know how "married" I am to needing that. I am not locked into contract with VZW, but I would hate to give up their network and the speed of the EVDO... but man the stats on that Kaiser look pretty over-the top.

Someone tell me to focus on the i760, please.

While I still read InfoSync, I have emailed them more than a few times about inaccuracies they post (or bad links, or ...). I still load it up, but I don't read it nearly as carefully as I used to (and FWIW, not nearly as frequent thorough as this forum).

Infosync

Are they even talking about the same device? "It doesn't have a stylist..." Also, who does a review without having actually handled the device!?

...my little brother's myspace page is also reporting the i760 is coming out July and August 15th (it's a two-tiered release) and he as well as his "Top 8" all give the i760 three out of four stars!!

Totally O/T, and yet very much related to the i760-- and an arsenal of worthy successors...

Have a look at Sprint's new TV spots and ask yourself if its new 'message' carries the slightest hint of relevance. If Sprint doesn't turn around and start adding subs very soon, CEO Forsee will likely be sprintin' to pasture. (In Q1, it lost 220k users and churn sprinted at an annual rate of 27.6%.)

The "Sprint ahead" campaign, developed by its third ad agency in as many years, seems so naïve and out of touch you conclude nobody's home.

Liberating Sprint of the "suit" would be good news. There's a chance his successor will see the light and focus on a nation of mobile hostages who lust for rational services and world-class hardware--as inspired (but not quite delivered) by iPhone.

My candidate for Forsee's replacement: Billionaire and "maverick" Mark Cuban (Broadcast.com, Dallas Mavericks, HDNet, etc.). A few others are also worth a look--fixing Sprint could be fun.

That infosync article is based upon old information, and the rumors that originally surfaced. What's really funny is that when we update information here, that is when other sites generally update their information. Many people were posting August on here, mostly first time posters who talked with "Verizon techs", but I am still being told by "Ethan" that it's set for a July release at the moment, as this will hold with the schedule for the 6800 release, and then the new Treo's in September/October/November (also some place in there they are suppose to release the new Q and the 5800 is still slated for a release), and will be a progression of removing the current "stale" PDA devices they have right now.

Anyway, it's still slated to come "soon", so we just need to be patient until it comes, as we can't do anything to make it happen sooner, no matter how hard we try...

I'm growing confident that the i760 will be released in July. Echoing tsatryn's comments, if this device isn't released soon and the Kaiser is, it's very likely that I'll jump ship to Cingular. I never thought I'd say that. I think VZW must realize there is a flight risk now for its customers (also considering the Mogul on Sprint) and probably is developing a sense of urgency on the pda front. Surprisingly, even my technology ignorant colleagues are growing anxious that vzw hasn't released anything new in a long time.

Off topic.... Just found this pretty cool site ...gofilego.com Allows you to upload any file up 150 meg to their server for (60) days. Just send the url after the file loads and youre good! no more ftp problems! this will work great for sending big files to clients without having to walk them through the "ftp commander" process! woohoo!

(shameless attempt at getting back on topic)...you could use gofilego to send video of you using your i760 to your iPhone buddies and laugh when it takes them ALL FREAKING DAY to download the file on their slow A$$ edge network!!

Why are the specs on the tentative/hypothetical CDMA version so much worse than on the GSM/ATT version? If that is the CDMA/Verizon version, I would just get the i760.

Good point...the question is when. I still am partial to the Samsung form factor and build quality. I also am very pleased that Samsung has decided to 'color' their case black vs silver. This will be a big benefit for those folks who migrated from Blackberry phones (3 for me) and put their phones through a good amount of normal wear and tear. The front keypad for the phone is welcomed as well. It's just a question of time for me. It looks like I will go with the i760 as I will need a replacement for my i730 that just sold.

Another interesting question is--will the i730's drop further in value once the i760 has been released? This is partially why I decided to sell my kit early vs wait until it has been totally phased out of existence.

Hey all, I'm joining the club of people wanting the i760 haha. Sure would be nice if it came out on July 4th as the leaked Verizon documents stated, but we all know that isn't going to happen. I own a Moto Q Black right now and it's just been one big nightmare of a phone. I can't count the times I've had it replaced and my latest one makes the phone almost useless! When I'm typing on it, it'll randomly send my text messages as I'm typing them as well as close and open programs. It's driving me crazy and praying the i760 will see the day of life soon. The numeric pad on the front just seems so ideal for these phones and would be wonderful for while in the car trying to type out a text message.

That and I kinda want to go back to a Samsung phone as I've always had the best luck with them in terms of reliability. My Samsung i600, while a major battery hog, ran wonderfully even if it had a nightmare of a Windows Mobile OS on it.

The new promo for VZW ends on the 7th. I'll try to check what the new equipment matrix shows (if I can find it) they might just shock everyone and release it without any fanfare (since the new chocolates launch then). I know it's a long-shot, but I am very confident that it will be released in July. It's definitely not concrete, but I have faith. Yeah the Kaiser is a great looking phone but Samsung wins my vote. It's got a very good track-record. If LG would hurry and release a PDA for VZW (Not until 2008, Q1 apparently) then I might consider that, but for now Samsung is the way I am going unless something much more impressive comes out between now and *crossing fingers* July 8th.

You're absolutely correct... I guess I should have actually read their piece, eh? I scan a lot of sites for info on the i760, and only noted the new release date at InfosyncWorld.

I'm sort of in the same situation as you describe: I load up a lot of pages, but this is the only place that I actually read every day (several times a day, in fact), and is also the only place I trust.

Unhappy Not to the fall

I've am sorry to say, the 760 most probably will not be out before the fall.

I've spoken to my corp sales person for my father's company. I've stopped into my local Verizon store once a week for the last few weeks, and I even chatted with a nice person at Verizon customer service yesterday.

The phone is not listed on any coming soon lists. Corporate sales no nothing about it. There release calender goes out to the end of Sept, and the only phones listed are not smart phones. There are new versions of the Motorola and LG phones.

Unhappy

We've all heard about a hundred different assumptions when this phone will be released, and I'm not saying you don't have good scoop, but I don't know if any of us do at this point, and the speculation is out of control...
Mrailing may have said it best.. it will be here when it is here...
However I am one of the people on the fence and if the Kaiser does come out first, I might be jumping ship from Verizon to ATT.
Your post does point out an interesting argument though. I have heard absolutely no hype from Verizon on this phone at all. I would think that a few weeks before it is released they would start an aggressive marketing campaign. Nothing! Many verizon employees won't even admit the phone is ever coming. Which the assumption of fall (basically 2 months away) it might not be that far off the mark.
