Ok so because of the newest FCC information on the iPhone being published it got me thinking. Apple asked that the FCC not reveal its photographs and other information until June 29th, 2007 through their confidentiality agreement.
So since Samsung requested that a 180 day confidentiality agreement be placed on the i760 on January 17th, 2007, the information should be released on July 17th right????
If this is the same thing that Apple did, it should mean the i760 will be release on or before the 17th of this month!!!!
Lets hope

That does not mean that Verizon cannot release this prior to the 180 days...it was just a vendor request to the FCC to fulfill maximum confidentiality guidelines. I do not have any examples....does anyone else?

The extension dates are generic in length, they do not necessarily relate to a release date.

They can request FCC short term confidentiality for 45 days at a time, for up to 180 days, from the time the device is APPROVED by the FCC, which means that I think the latest request the Samsung did/or was given based upon their "blank" request they did to begin with, gives them confidentiality 180 days from March 30, 2007, which is roughly 6 month, so this short term confidentiality could go until (roughly) September 30, 2007. Now this doesn't mean the FCC can't extend it longer if they choose, since they obviously don't care about upholding their rules that they placed about marketing a device/publicly announcing a device.
Anyway, for more information, check out the FCC sticky, as it explains this in extreme detail, including a letter you can send via e-mail or fax. It is just stupid that an organization like FCC creating guidelines, and not following them... [/end rant]
So we won't be able to read anything until it's released, or as late as September 30...

 To crmealey:
Your research into the number of posts for the latest and greatest was interesting, to say the least! If your theory was correct, you should have divided your post up into at least three or four postings to help get us to the magic number faster!!!
To Michael and the other Samsung Masters:
CR is absolutely correct in stating that you and the other Yodas in the i730 (soon to be 760) neighborhood have a devoted following/fan club! Where would I/we be without you all!!! I am looking forward to the magic you can work when the i760 is released.
To Verizon:
2 years is too long to wait! Move your !*@#(# and release the @#$#@$ phone already!

Yeah - that was a long one. Probably should divide ramblings like that up a little, eh? Here's to getting closer to the "magic number"

Interesting data...I also owned the Kyocera 7135 an wow is there a big difference in features/screen resolution/form factor with the upcoming i760.
I have my i730 and wireless mouse with a 2gb SD card on EBay now with 5 hours left. Using this to fund my new i760. I hope the pricing is reasonable and will also use my $100 credit to reduce the out-of-pocket.
Now I'm scrambling to find a phone that I can use in the interim and Verizon states it has to be another PDA phone for me to switch ESN's on line. Otherwise they charge me $20 for them to do it...what a pain.
The things we need to do to move up in this technological world.
Dave
