Ok--Apple is a company(last time a checked) and therefore has server based e-mail. If the iPhone doesn't support exchange push e-mail, what good is it to business users? Or in other words, why give this to folks in your company? (I know, I know Apple prolly doesn't use any MS products in house)
Ooops, I meant to say that the i760 is da bomb, and not get O/T lol
Thanks for the info mrailing; you may have just saved Verizon from loosing a customer. My contract was up in July and I really didn’t want to switch since Verizon had the best service in my area, but the alternatives’ phone selection is a little more desirable at this point in time.
Do any of you guys think Verizon will change the rates on its data plans to compete with other carriers?
Twin sons from different mothers...any one remember that album?
You betcha! I own it! But it's actually Twin Sons of Different Mothers.
I've experienced an epiphany: I've accepted the fact that VZW has me by the short hairs, and that I might as well shut up, sit back, and wait (no promise of a patient wait!). Regardless of what I do/don't do, nothing is going to change, and the i760 will arrive when it arrives.... or doesn't arrive.
What'll really tick me off is if I discover that I don't like it once I get my mitts on it!

That is a major fear of mine. I need a device that has good battery life, is reliable (doesn't lock up 3-4 times a day), and has good email capabilities.
I like the all the other NICE features, but all I really NEED is the above.
Several people are encouraging me to go blackberry because it does what I need, but I've been holding out because of all the nice features that wm6 can do that blackberry either doesn't do, or doesn't do nearly as well.
I have this gut feeling that the battery life isn't going to be that much better and I am still going to have lock-up issues and if that is the case I will have waited a long time, and wasted a lot of money, just for a big disappointment.
Question for you all that have i730's.
Do you have to soft-reset several times a day?
Is WM6 going to be better about this?
I have the following apps installed:
AI Roboform
AutoStep
Google Maps
OCN5
PDANet - which in my opinion SUCKS, at least on this device
PIEPlus
PhoneHelper
PhotoContacts Pro
and a couple other SD/MR solutions

Pretty much ya. I find myself checking it a few times a day to see if it locked up yet again and then I get to soft reset it so at least I can get calls again

It will be better than the PDA phone you have now.

Mine doesn't lock up anymore. I Turned it off and Deactivated it. But it's close by.
I am SO surprised by all the lurkers (a few have 730s now, some with other cell/PDAs, othera are newbies) showing up out of the woodwork for this 760 and expressing their frustration.
Count me as one of those. Actually, I have been an active participant in another forum, but only recently started lurking here out of my incessant need to follow every last hint as to when I can get this phone. (Front keypad and thin form factor are the big motivators for me.)

The only time mine would lockup is at the end of charging...when it was charged... or when I disconnected from a power source... I traced the issue to a battery bar indicator program (Batti), uninstsalled it and haven't had and issue since!
I run the standard MR/SD utilities Autostep, phone helper, etc, PI2007, SPB Diary, and Inclose for my Task manager

No doubt about that... since I don't have a PDA phone at all!
I doubt that anyone cares, but InfoSync World doesn't even list the i760 on any of it's 'best of' or 'coming soon' lists any more. I don't know if that's because they're tired of waiting, or because they feel that other devices have overshadowed the i760???

I don't think it is specific to WM 5. For instance, my wife's HTC 8525 practically never needs resetting, and she has about 20 3rd party apps on it. The three i730's I've owned I had to soft rest daily, sometimes multiple times in each day. My wife and I run the same software as well (I set up her phones for her). I'm hoping the i760 greatly improves reliability over the i730 otherwise I may just pick up the 8525 or a Kaiser when/if it is released.

No, well, sort of.
My original i730 we pretty good. I had problems a couple of times and did a hard reset and reinstall. But that only happened a couple times in the year and a half or so. But then the screen got damaged and the replacement had issues. XCPUScalar would lock it up. Autostep was OK at 416, but would also lock up at 520. After a month of annoying lock ups, I had them replace that one too. This third one I loaded with all of my garbage (i have a load). It works fine at 520mhz, but was occasionally locking up. Two days ago I hard reset and reloaded WITHOUT Phonealarm, and no locks so far in two days. I think I'll learn to live without Phonealarm. I've always thought it made the system unstable.
But even at the worse, it was never several resets a day. One or two when at the worse.
I can't believe WM6 would help much if the problems like mine are from added third part software.
This is my first bike, and for never riding a bike before, I think 700 miles in 10 days is pretty good (especially since I have only had the bike 15 days). Indiana might be flat in the north, but in the south where I live it's got lots of twisty roads, some through hills, a lot on the flat where you can see through to the next couple of turns, making it easy to take it hard in the corners and not having to worry about upcoming cars...
The i760 should get better battery life, plus the fact that it will be a newer battery where the i730 battery you have now is probably end of life, and needs a replacement. Ethan mentioned that the i760 lasted quite a bit longer than his i730 (but his battery in the i730 was 9 months old when he compared).
Just pulling your leg. I know some cruiser riders that don't do 700 miles a year. And I've spent a bit of time along the Ohio river near Madison. There is some good riding around there. But north of Indianapolis, it all is about corn fields.
The battery is a fairly new extended battery. Though it is only slightly better then my original 2 year old extended battery.
I'm hoping the the i760 could have an extended battery over much of the enter back side, unlike the i730 which had the speakers that would get blocked by a large battery.
Although the i730 is a great device, it has it's own forum.... Please take it there. This is the SCH-i760 Forum and this is the Rumor/Release thread.
Let's keep this CLOSE to the topic at hand.
But to answer the question of stability. The i730 is stable with nothing on it, it's when you load stuff that it messes up, which is why the iPhone is a CLOSED system, and will only allow apps to run through the browser. BUT, and I repeat, BUT, you can make the device stable with a bit of work, SOOO if the i760 isn't stable, it won't take the community long to tweak on it and make it more stable, or determine what's making it unstable.
But again, we are speculating... The i760 isn't released, and until it is, anything anyone says (besides those who CAN'T talk because of NDAs), is just guessing, and we need to wait till we get our grubby little hands.
PLEASE keep this as close to the topic as possible, use the LOUNGE for other discussions, and the appropriate forums for discussion of devices like the i730...

Need help setting up your i730/i830 or other WM2003/WM5 Phone, as well as the other hacks I have done, check out the MRailing Guides and Links
I keep my 730 in my pocket and each one I've owned - the charging pins/metal at the bottom of the phone rust and get filthy due to pocket lint. I have to clean it constantly but it always ends up with that damn blinking yellow charger.
I REALLY hope that the i760 will have a mini-usb charging interface. I'd love to be able to charge my phone from my laptop.
I hate cases. As if the phone wasn't big enough - I'm gonna get a case to make it...bigger. I haven't looked in a long time so maybe they've gotten nicer.
Any details on the power connector for the i760? I hope it's not some proprietary garbage.
