Shea Ill be sure to do that bro Yea right. I don't see myself buying a pricey device like that, but if I did, Id draw bar codes on the things I own, just so I could feel like I bought it for a reason Cnet doesn't know the difference between a Pocket PC, Smartphone, or twinkies..we'll they know what twinkees are. Seriously, they called the i730 a smartphone too, when its not, so when they call it that that doesnt necessarily mean anything. For proof just look up i730 on cnet and youll hear it for yourself. Just a heads up.

-SCH-i760- The new replacements I got work well, but I prefer the one handed vertical qwerty in my i730 over any horizontal sliding qwerty keyboards.
NEXT? Maybe i770..?..Omnia?..Innov8? Chuck Verizon all together for an SGH-i760? iPhone? I don't know yet but I still thoroughly enjoy my i730!

On a brighter note, our tech intelligence czar, Anton Kotov ( http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/art...ssbow-en.shtml), has the skinny on Crossbow; all should read it.
From his report, its best 'feature' could be the now-embedded access to...Windows (Mobile) Update.
If this system works as suggested--and we're probably dreaming--the era of AKUs denied by carrier stonewalling could end and WM users will avoid a tradition of orphanage and Balkanization. (Of course, carriers can presumably maintain control over what updates are offered to users on a device-by-device basis.)
Overall, though, taking carriers out of the S/W maintenance business is a big plus.

I noticed the VZW website has a "While supplies last" banner on the I730. They probably won't bring out the i760 until sometime after they firesale the remaining i730's

You're thinking ROM. The i730 has the same 64 megs of RAM.
Also I agree with the previous comments, most sites refer to all Windows Mobile phones as "smartphones". Even Engadget, who you'd think would know better, once said there was no reason for the Treos bulk when there were thin Windows Mobile devices out there, like the Q. Talk about apples and oranges. The specs of the i760 definitely suggest a full blown Windows Mobile phone, not a smartphone edition phone.

Yeah, I liked the GSM version of the phone better myself. The 6800 has better specs (better memory/ram), better camera (2MP), and EVDO revA capable. However it is reportedly being released with WM5 while the i760 is reportedly going to have Crossbow on it. The i760 looks longer than the i730, but thinner. (no jokes here.... ) I'm going to have to play with both to see what I'll go with. We'll have to see the official release of both devices to know the exact specs, OS, EVDO capabilities (rev A or not)... And with MediaFLO coming out on VzW soon, will these devices be able to access that? (I don't know the ins and outs of MediaFLO...maybe someone can enlighten me?)

What exactly is MediaFLO? The GSM can't be used for phone functions here right? Or I guess if a sim card is used with it, does that mean one can use the GSM version with another network other than Verizon or no?
