On July 4, instead of our family picnics, I say we all organize a nationwide effort to storm every VZW store and headquarters location, carrying signs, demanding the release!

now that would be funny!!!
do you think vzw released a statement (like at&t did...) to all of its location landlords to inform them of the pending swarm of PDAPH i760 rumor mongers that will be camping out on july 4th so they can get their new sammy's???
Now that AT&T has released calling plans for the iPhone. (For $60.00, you get 450 mins of talk +data), VZW may have to rethink their own plans. This may cause yet another delay in the i760. (Hmmm ... 499 for an iPhone + 60/month or 499 for an i760 + 89/month hmmmm.....)
Future Headline Flash!! PDAPhoneHome Members Protest Verizon Headquarters!!
Throngs of the i760 forum members are shown, headed by their leader, Michael Railing (seen in foreground), protesting the continued delay of the new i760 pda phone! Protestors were heard chanting "Whata we want? Seven-sixty! When do we want it? NOW!"
Any new substantial rumors today? Thinking about pinging my corporate rep again for the fun of it.
Maybe he will go ahead and ship me one just to get me off of his back. LOL.
happen to be talking to data tech support today about a problem. during the wait of one of the reboots, obvious time to "chat". While he admitted he himself was waiting for the 760, FWIW, he advised that it could be a few months.

Actually, they did... new plans on July 1st. They got away from calling them unlimited data plans, to calling them America's Choice Email plans for PDA/BB with unlimited "Browsing".
Plans start at $79, and for $99 you get unlimited txt, mms, IM added.
AT&T is offering a lot and much cheaper than VZW...
"The $59.99 monthly plan includes 450 minutes of voice time; a $79.99 plan includes 900 minutes; and a $99.99 plan includes 1,350 minutes. All three offer 200 text messages, unlimited data services, minutes that roll over month-to-month and mobile-to-mobile calls. There also is a $36 activation fee."
I am paying 39.99 + 40.00 for the 450 minutes, unlimited data plan and unlimited text... 200 text would be just fine with me...
SORRY.... Mark beat me to the SCOOP

Is it just me or has a lot of people's excitement and anticipation for the i760 waned a bit? With expected delays, I have taken the time to thoroughly examine the offerings (and soon-to-be offerings) from other carriers in a way I never really have since coming to Verizon four/five years ago. Truth be told, the i760 simply can't stand up when compared to most upcoming phones. I've said earlier I'm excited about the HTC Kaiser, even more-so after seeing the video demonstrations - though I really, really, really, don't want to go to AT&T. Still, the people who stick around for the i760, I think it must say more about how much they like Verizon and not that they necessarily like this phone anymore.
For those of you choosing to wait for the i760, is it the phone keeping you around or the network/service/familiarity of VZW? I know I don't want to switch carriers, but I just don't feel as blindly loyal as I used to.
So for months now I have lurked this thread for a glimmer of when my next PDA buddy will take home in my palm...
To the question of "for those still holding out", unfortunately I have a family plan with 4 lines on it with contracts expiring somewhere in a distant galaxy. At $175 per line early cancellation, I am pretty much shackled to big red...
Recently bought my wife a SCH-u740, neat little phone! Having gone through 2 i730's since they first released, it has become somewhat lackluster to me. Really hope the i760 announces soon, as I might too abandon ship and let my lines run off for greener pastures.
Frustrating watching this thread for months now with no definitive release in sight. Me personally, I am going to wait until next Thursday for something definitive on the i760 release. Otherwise, might just transfer lines over to big white&blue aka orange for access to some cutting edge. As for early cancel fees ...
Today, when I got my hair cut, my stylist has a 6700. The phone is nice and fast. Of course, no WM6, but it's nice to try out a phone with someone you know, rather than the IDIOTS at the Verizon stores.
I too have been waiting for the i760 but I am getting fed up. I contemplated switching but didn't because of the lack of 3G on at&t and tmobile. The other day, one of my friends had a tmobile PPC (sorry, not sure what model) that said it had 3G. I yelled BS, they don't have 3G deployed yet. He kept saying it is 3G and that its fast. So I took his device and ran a speed test, I got results in the 800 range. This was in Brooklyn, NY, where I only get on the 1X network on my i730, I only get EVDO in or close to the city. This past weekend, I tethered a Samsung Blackjack to my friends laptop. I did a speed test and got results in the 800's. I don't even think I get speeds like that with EVDO which is somewhere in the high 300's-low 600 range (mainly between 300-400). I am now so ready to switch to at&t. I think the only thing stopping me is that you can't get insurance on their PDA's. I will wait until next week and then make a decision. Verizon has been good as far as service, but it seems that at&t is coming in fast. I'm tired of having to reset my i730 every now & then and have been holding back on doing a hard reset since i'm hoping the new Samsung Brick (sorry meant i760) should be released soon.
I just picked up the new Samsung Q1U and have been tethering with that alot. I would love to have a higher bandwidth speed to use with this device. I wonder how many customers Verizon is going to lose between this Friday and next Thursday?
Fed up waiting? Hmmm.... I must have missed the press release from VZW telling us the release date, so that we can be upset at them for not honoring.
How many customers will Verizon lose between this Friday and next Thursday? I suspect a few less than any other week, due to the holiday. But they will lose none, statistically, due to the i760, or lack thereof.
We all need to realize that in the "pie" of VZW's sales, the entire pda market isn't a piece - its barely a bite. Whatever anyone here does or says won't make any difference at all in what they do.
From the looks on the comment by the moderator who deleted it, plus actually reading your post, you were posting links to a another site to help you generate money with a referral program, otherwise known as spamming the board. This is in violation of the House Rules, and this is why it was most likely deleted, and since this was your first post, and it was/is spamming the board, this is the normal action. Normally when this type of SPAM happens, the account is also removed/banned, so you at least lucked out there.
As a suggestion in the future for any message board you visit, don't SPAM the board, especially on the first post.
I could have easily be sent a PM about it, is not that hard to edit the post to remove the "ming" external links. spamming if you say so .
The members on your board would have easily save $25 but more power to whom ever deleted it .
my cherry popping post gone...whatever keep it moving.
