Sure, its always worth the wait for a new WM6 device.
Just because I am a little ticked with VZW does not mean that you or anyone else should dislike or not buy this device. I only mentioned my true feelings about how I feel and that I would like to pay for a device that NOBODY has made a choice for me to tell me what can and what cannot be used on that device.

So we need to take a lot of that into consideration before we tell ourselves to go and start writing letters that I honestly believe will fall into deaf ears, maybe the trick is to stop buying VZW products and when that takes effect a company will definitely think to figure out what to do.

So true equus, I know a guy in my area with a 730 and we meet every month or so, this week he was mad because the refurb unit asurion sent him a couple weeks ago had come with wm5 loaded. "Its too slow now" I tried to get him to load AutoStep but he wont. Says its too hard. He uses wireless sync and when he has a problem with the unit he simply hard resets and lets wireless sync load all his email and contacts back on. I shudder to think how many times he does that. I think he is the majority of ppc owners. I have yet to meet anyone who knows what a slingbox is, in fact one well-intentioned friend tried to get me to get rid of it when I explained to him what it was. He was sure that I would be fined or at the very least have my satellite shut off if someone found out.

equus,
Hmmm.... as long as we're going with the 'good-natured ribbing' bit, I'll give in to one of my pet peeves. Allow me to point out that the expression you no doubt intended to use was, "These people could not care less about the "crippling" of stuff cause they maybe use that PDA to only its 20% potential."
It's a common mistake, but think about it: If someone could care less, then they must care to some degree; butsome one who doesn't care at all, 'could not care less'!

I really hope that Verizon does not cripple the wifi. I don't know if I am going to get a data plan right off the bat, I know I know might not be able to get the good price.... But anyways, I have wifi access everywhere I ever am(and feel like being cheap until I get out of college). That is one of the features that drew me to this phone.

You can order the phone with the Data plan get all the discounts that you cant and then cancel the Data Plan the following day. The Data Plan does not affect Contractual obligations. so. if they knock off $100 to get the Data, do it, then Remove it before it costs.

What if we already have data plan? Do we qualify for this discount? Thanks.

I know of a slingbox! Can't imagine sitting in traffic every day without it....
on another note, it seems that despite (or maybe inspite of) our incessant complaining about the crippling of Bluetooth on their pdas, VZW continues to do it. My wife recently asked me if I could get her a blackberry, so I took a look at the 8830 and of course on the 8830 webpage from VZW it says that it does not support OBEX profiles....does not support? More like they crippled it...but then again as Equus said, most of the people who have these pdas (and to a larger degree cell phones in general) have no clue what these machines can do..they look at us as if we are eccentric and geeky for loving something so awesome.. on another note, how is the wing? is it just a tmobile version of the 6800? it looks real similar to the Mogul
