This is the second time that my kingston 2gb microsd card files went missing. The card still works though. It still shows as available in file explorer and I can still add stuff in it, but the files I had in it are not showing. it is also empty when I open the card on my pc.
however it still shows that theres 1gb worth of files in there. Can I recover those files?
I'm having the same problem with my 4gb MicroSD card. To the point that I've given up formatting it and moving all the files over (I've got the entire folder copied on my HD because it's happened so often).
i had a similar problem. the first time it magically reappeared. The 2nd time, i had to do a recovery on the card (forgot to back it up regularly). I for sure backup all the time now.
I have experienced this twice. Today I tried the file recovery programs mentioned in another thread, which unfortunately didn't work for me.
What I did find, and this worked the first time as well (although at that time I didn't realize what was going on) was this.
With the phone connected to your pc browse to the storage card through the windows mobile device in my computer. Drag a file into the folder from your pc and see if the list re-populates. This has worked both times for me.

Try this web link...I used it & it was a blog by Terri Morton...when she used a .cab from this website and was able to read a 4g card...I installed in on my sch-i760 the other day and am now using my 4 g card...it even read my son's 8g card:
After experiencing this problem with the 4GB Kingston microSDHC I searched around and came across this XDA-Developers page. To summarize, if you have a problem with the disappearing memory card try increasing the values in [HKLM\System\StorageManager]"PNPUnloadDelay" and [HKLM\System\StorageManager]"PNPWaitIODelay" registry keys. The default on SCH-i760 is 4096, I doubled it to 8192. It's been a few days since I applied this fix and have not had a missing card yet.

Sorry. Personally, I find the flash memory made in Japan is your best bet for reliability. Just recently, I had an issue where two separate Kingston 4GB card, manufactured in Taiwan, refused to work in LG env2. I replaced them with the Japanese made cards, which work perfectly. Both are the same brand and model, country of origin are the only differences.
