i did a search and lots comes up for phone alarm which does not seem to be an alarm clock
i want a regular alarm clock that is louder, more consistent , has snooze, and other clock features 6.1 is sorely missing
a countdown timer would be good too
i have some of the spb stuff and would like to use their clock but it does not get very good reveiews and sounds like there are a lot of problems with it
i am interested in software that will work well with this phone and be dependable on battery or ac
i should add that i do not care about cost, i lose way more money than $10-$20 screwing around loading and unloading apps that don't work! lol
I have been a loyal user of SPB Time as well. However, as of a few days ago, it's stopped working. For whatever reason, it won't output any sound. Alarms get triggered but are totally silent.
6.1 has a snooze feature. If you want it to be even louder, then make a louder tone on your pc and tranfer it over. I have yet to find any program that is substaitally better than what 6.1 has built it, to warrant keeping it on my device.
While phone alarm is not an alarm clock...it comes with a free alarm clock program that is really good!
Nothing special about it...just a simple program that lets you set multiple alarms, and set an audio file and/or vibrate. Can also run a program or do a soft reset.
I still pretty satisfied with the standard alarm, but I do like G-Alarm very much. It just seems to me that the alarms play MUCH softer than the standard alarm even though I "force 100 volume" etc. Apart from recording a louder version is there a way to get it as loud as the standard alarm (or is it all in my head)

i said i dont care about free vs $15 or $30 for software, i am self employed and to me time is money, the more i play/screw around with this phone loading and unloading programs the more money i am losing, which of course defeats the purpose of the phone in the first place- which is to make me more efficient
so my point was i want alarm clock software that works, and if it is free great and if it is $30 that is great too, as long as i load it once and move on
I'll add a vote for G-alarm as well.. and G-Watch is pretty decent as well for a countdown timer from the same developer.
BTW -don't you know half the fun of owning a smartphone is the time you waste loading and unloading programs and tweaking it till your blue in the face! That's why we all hang out here!

for whatever reason choosing the "Alternative playback mode" (for WM5) plays the alarms at the volume I need. I will now be able to give G-alarm a real try as a replacement.
Fixed the same issue in G-Watch (use the Countdown timer often). Anyone know why this "fixed" my problem? What is this alternative playback mode?

yes i am definitely figuring out that this phone requires 2 hours a day playing time, lol
i was up till 6am loading and unloading stuff last night and now realize i have lost my address book and will have to figure out a way to get it back on here, yuck
I have not used the alarms much on my phone because it makes too many other noises. If I set it to silent, the alarm does not go off. If I do not have it on silent, it is always beeping etc. to alert me of incoming mails etc. This wakes me up, so I usually go with the hotel clock radio. But I'd rather use the phone if possible. There must be a simple way to deal with this issue that is eluding me. Any suggestions?

G-ALARM: something that I forgot to mention is that you should install it to device and not memory card. It seems to run much better this way (atleast it did with previous versions).
Yes - do try it. My two favorite features are that it will force your phone's volume to any level and the fade-in feature. It assures that you will hear your alarm and reduces the risk of waking up your better half!
