Its almost been confirmed by verizon that the phones are being held to fix the issue with EVDO and MEID's.
I was helping my buddy update to wm6.1 last night and we bricked his damn phone so he had to go back to verizon to get a new one. He kind of had to pull some small teeth to get them to give him a 760 because the tech said they have a top seceret email that says they are NOT suppose to sell or replace any 760's and they are to send them all back to corp. She hinted that it had to do with the MEID and no EVDO and that Samsung is working on a fix but they don't know when it will happen.
I called and screamed yesterday.
They are supposed to send me a new/refurb out in the next day or so.
Said, it would most likely have v6.0 on it.
I like some of the 6.1 features but the phone behaves strangely.
I prefer 6.0 even if I have to patch it to recognize my 4GB card.
i got my second replacement i760 yesterday and have not had to reset it yet, AND i have been getting evdo pretty regularly. the first replacement looked like a regular phone but the new one was a obvious refurb (it didnt have the samsung sticker under the hood.
i wasnt gonna do 6.1 but i had to because of the sdhc compatablility
we will see what happens though, cause I really dont want a 6800
So... I was finally able to get someone at Verizon to help me with my phone, and turns out that the phone has to be replaced. (1st time). She then continues to tell me that my phone is no longer available and she was going to find a comparable model. Except the only other phone that is close is the XV6800. But, that phone is not in stock! Then she tried to give me a Moto Q. So I have a phone that works about have the time, and a "pending case" with Verizon.
I have had my i760 since it came out (first day online) and I love this phone, compared to others that I have had. I have a bunch of third party apps installed and I never really have to do any resets of any kind, and all connections are fine.
I now have the 6.1 upgrade and still no issues.

replaced mine today with a new one. last one in store (cause i bricked the replacement sent to me) They didnt tell me 6.1 update is not to be done on it or it wont get local nortel network in my area. I also beefed for 45 minutes on the phone for the xv6800 before I went to the store. I just used the directional and scrolled the menu on both phones. The new i760 was fine and the xv6800 was stalling bad with memory choke. Am I glad I didnt get my way.
I guess Ill have to be patient once again and wait for the fix to get out of 6.0
its about time they take this battery consuming POS off the shelves. They still tell me that theres nothing wrong with my phone even though i only get 6 hours of standby on an extended battery with making 1 phone call of 5 minutes and checking email once. I am so ready to go back to a blackberry. When I had a blackberry at sprint i used to go a day and a half without recharging my blackberry on an extended battery.

Sounds like there's something wrong with your battery. Can go almost 2 days on the regular battery, with light use (about the same as your example).
well I updated to 6.1 last night, it took a while and my phone didnt brick so i guess im ok, i have noticed my battery life has gotten better, it sat in standby for a whole 8 hours last night and didnt run the battery dead. I had 2 bars when i woke up and even had an hour long conversation with someone before my exteneded died.
I changed to my other extended and talked another 40 minutes and its sat in standby for 2 hours and i still have 4 bars of battery. Maybe 6.0 was sucking up my battery???
we will see how long this lasts, since theres still known problems with this phone i may just fight verizon for a new phone
After much complaining and many problems they gave me a new Blackberry Curve 8330. Verizon was very fair since I had the phone 2 years, no money and no upgrade was used. Great PDA phone BTW.
just got off the phone after an hour with verizon. called because my screen won't properly align anymore. at first they offered a moto Q, and I was like, thats not even comperable, so I got them to offer me either a 6900 or 6800. took the 6900 pending approval from the out of breath ladies supervisor tomorrow.
They did say that there was a softare issue they are trying to resolve and they aren't sure if they will have them available again or not
I'd pass up on the i770 and wait for the touch diamond or pro. the only thing that would be beneficial about the i770 is the ability to use it overseas
