got my replacement package today. To my surprise, they had a brand new i760 in the box instead of the xv6800 they told me they were going to send.
Now the instructions in the box said to return the old phone only and to keep all the accessories. So does that means I should keep all the accessories that came with the new phone and just return the phone (without the batteries, charger etc?)
What has everyone else done when they receive a brand new phone as a replacement? Do you return everything that came with the phone or just the phone itself?
I called and talked to Verizon about my i760... and to my surprise they indeed did get more of the i760s in as I got mine wednesday!
nevermind... i was excited about getting a new one but right out of the box before i did anything to it, it has horrible sound issues where i can barely hear people in calls... so the guy is calling me back tomorrow and is probably gonna be hooking me up with the Omnina or Saga..
I am holding out for a Saga or Omnia, in that order, which are now the two cheapest wm6.1 phones that Verizon sells. I pretty much hate my i760, so one that "works" is not going to cut it (I hope Verizon sees things this way...).
Well after multiple calls and talking to CSRs, Verizon sucks.
I'm on my 3rd i760 and I have the issue with t talking to the switch.
This is firmware independent. I've had all three firmware versions 6.0, 6.1V1 and now the latest. I will frequently not be able to make a call because the device can't talk to the switch. no amount of *228 and resets will fix the issue.
1 out of 6 calls fails.
So I'm on the phone with a CSR and she tells me to spend money to upgrade to a different phone or take another i760 that will probably have the same issue. Did I mention I'm on my third device. She offered a 6800 but it's wider than an i760 so it won't work with the cases I have.
just keep calling take another i760 go to the store activate it see if it works if not tell them to give you another yes it sucks but they will get tired off you bringing the same phones back
As I am out of warranty, and the big V appears to have plenty of i760s back in stock, the best offer I got was for a replacement i760 in exchange for my device and $50. Fifty bucks for a crappy, discontinued phone. iPhone keeps looking better...
I got a new i760 replacement from them 3 weeks ago. I had email sync issues called them today I was offered xv6800. I asked (nicely) if I could get the Omnia she checked what I paid for the i760 and said no problem my new Omnia arrives tomorrow.
I'm on my 4th i760.
THis time they sent a new one and wanted me to accept a contract extension along with pay them some money. HUH??? I already pay for TEC. They claimed they could waive it. Waive it my "you know what".
Then the two year warranty means nothing. They keep sending me FRUs that don't work.
Now that I have the new one. We'll see how it goes.

I'm guessing they offer 6800s when they are out of i760s (which probably depends on where and when you call). I was hoping when I called that they would be out of 760s, and I could then ask for an Omnia (I REALLY want a Saga, but for some reason they don't seem to know much about it...), but they seem to still want to unload 760s.
I'm getting a new in box i760 on Monday. I've had 6 replacement 6800s, and they are only able to offer me the i760. I hope I'm not trading one set of issues for another!

You should demand a Saga or Omnia. i760 is already discontinued, and buggy.
If you have 6 replacements of anything it's you, not the phone.
Hi,
I don't know that is true.
If there is a software but that he hits with his flavor of installed apps or configuration; he could go through a hundred phones but it doesn't mean it's him.
I went through 3 i760's. Two had memory card issues and one had a bad touch screen. If I wasn't using a memory card the other two devices were perfect.
Getting shipped refurbs that don't "really" get tested for functionality.
Talk to all the folks that had chocolates... Once you get into the refurbs all you seem to get is some other persons problem phone. I don't need to defend myself, I'm just a guy stuck with a faulty run of phones. I'd love to see what Verizon comes up with for a solution to the problem down the road for all of us though.

Spoke to a VZW tech on the phone today. I told her I was interested in buying the i760 but heard about the issues with it. She told me that there were issues but that they are currently re-releasing the phone. She said that there is now a software update you can install that will fix any issues with getting EV connection.
She told me to go to verizonwireless.com and search for the Samsung i760 phone. Once on the page for that phone, go to support and download the software update called BJ10 and the issues should be fixed.

I went to Verizon Wireless website, had to search for i760, clicked on support, and then under downloads, a section titled "Device Software Update" and it opened up a new tab for Samsung's site, which is where I first got the 6.1 upgrade, complete with all of the headaches. What has changed? Where is BJ10?
