Shortcut to the Bluetooth Headset Screen?

I've gotten used to having to go to Bluetooth settings and changing the Headset for the most part but is there a way to get to that screen with a shortcut so I don't have to scroll those tabs all the way to the right to get to Headset? Almost impossible to get to without a stylus or in a moving car. Once I'm there I can easily set the correct device but getting there is a pain.

I now have five devices that I use as my headset and stereo devices and could use a faster way to switch them since I have to do it manually.

Here's a shortcut:

1. From the Today screen, press the right softkey to Menu
2. Press Up button to Bluetooth Setting
3. Scroll to your BT headset and the rest is straightforward

Not quite a "shortcut" that can be mapped to a button or an icon, but it works fairly well.

TOTALLY agree - it's so annoying to be trying to do the right thing and not stare at your phone in the car but I have not found a solution to this either.

I have no menu option for BT settings in me menu (nor can I add one it seems?

Help?

I'm just surprised none of the guru's here have not come up with a one click solution yet. I can't even find a macro program to do it.

Thanks. I use SPB Mobile Shell and such so getting to the BT settings is not tough though the Today->Menu->BT Setting is helpful when I'm on the Today screen.

And yes once you are in BT settings Devices scrolling right takes you to the Headset tab but it takes me 18 right clicks to get there because it stops in each field in BPP and FTP. I wish one could scroll left from Devices to get to Headset!

Yep, was hoping there a way to hack right into Headset. I need to go in there several times a day as I switch from my car to my desktop to my headphones, etc. and almost never need to be in the rest of the tabs in BT settings.

I had the same question a few months back and someone gave me this string to make into a link:

23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23,6?\Windows\cplmain.cpl,-23

Put that string in notepad and rename the file extension to .lnk

I put an icon right on my today screen and it is probably my favorite one--it takes you straight to the "headset" tab in bluetooth settings. Hope that helps.

I just copy and pasted the string above into notepad on my PC and then did a save as and changed the default '.txt' extension to '.lnk' (LNK - not ink). Then I moved the file over to my phone. WORKED LIKE A CHAMP

Now all I need to figure out is how to add that link to either my desktop (with an icon) or on my start menu - either way (OR BOTH??)

Thanks!

Spb Pocket Plus has a plugin that can put row of icons/links right on the today screen. It actually puts a row of icons and if you tap one it opens up like a tab and has sub links. I removed the "tabs" so that there is just one row of links that I can tap with my finger.

It's kinda hard to explain without showing it to you, but I don't know how to upload a shot of my phone and I am at work. Download the trial version and play around with it and let me know.

Now that's cool... I recall seeing that somewhere to access the applets within the control panel an never got around to trying it but I like this!

To put it on the start menu just copy your .lnk file to the \Windows\Start Menu folder.
For a line of icons on the Today Screen you can use an app like SPB P+ but I've never been a big fan of the system overhead those apps require. I don't use half the bells and whistles they provide anyway. Instead I prefer several little apps that do a specific function. So to that end cLaunch and Nakka's tdLaunch are a couple of today screen plugins that create shortcuts.. both freeware. I'm using an updated version of Nakka's tdLaunch because I can define the size of the icons. I'll see if I can find it and upload it because it took me some searching to find it. Anyway theres a screen shot, I gotta come up with a better Icon than the default system one.

@dgold82, check out MyMobiler.. is a cool app that displays your PDA screen on your PC through active sync... and it will take screen shots and videos clips of your screen.

I didn't want to remap the Today Screen buttons, so I added it to SPB's Tools screen thusly:
Settings>SPB Mobile>Advanced>Menu>Highlight "Tools"
Right soft MENU button>Add>File
Select the BT.lnk file created earlier.

Here's a strange one:
Normally, when I need to switch handsfree devices, I press the right soft-key and go to Bluetooth Setting. Then I hold down the right D-Pad until I get to the Headset tab, which is all the way at the end.

One day I did that and the Headset tab wasn't there. Turns out it had somehow moved. It was now the 4th tab, right after "COM Ports". That made my life a little easier since I could now switch devices just using my finger.

However, I have since had to hard-reset my i760 and I don't know how the tab was moved in the first place, much less how to move it again.

Any ideas?
