A common thread here seems to be Yahoo Go. Perhaps that is the culprit.
I removed Pocket Plus last night. The problem did not crop up once today. I'll run like this for another few days. If the problem occurs again, the next item for removal will be Yahoo Go.

oh.. let me check my phone and see if its working.
Edit
Its still working, bet it's LiVeSearch.

It's definitely frustrating because you don't know that it is frozen until you need to hit the backlight button to check your emails, etc. Maybe I should not have upgraded so soon...

I do not have Windows Live/Live Search installed on my i760 so I don't think that's the culprit. At some point today (I have no idea when, but it was within the past 5 hours), my i760 locked up. The only reason I realized it was locked up was because I was in front of my computer when CallWave rang to tell me someone was calling me--the i760 never rang. The light on my i760 is flashing, alternately between blue and white. However, the screen is dark and won't come on. The battery is NOT warm; in fact, it is cool (but not cold).
Even though I removed PocketPlus yesterday, I suppose it could have left some code on the i760 so I'm not totalling counting PP as being a problem. I will, however, remove Yahoo Go as soon as I soft reset. If I experience another lock-up, I'll have to do a hard reset to clear out the cobwebs and then run it naked for awhile, perhaps until I can get to the Apple Store and get an iPhone.
I'm also wondering whether the lock-ups are caused by an incoming call or a missed called.

Iprob8, I would start Fresh, But before you do, do a*228 1 and *228 2.
I have seen where my phone had issues (back with my I730 and i'm sure you remember how many replacements i had.). They had serious S*&t going on and they they fixed the problems with a OTA update. Maybe they have fixed the problem and you just haven't updated.
Mine is working fine all day, no lock ups. i only have a few things installed. Activesync with Exchange, Ewallet, dopewars, a few POP accounts. NO Lifesearch or Yahoo stuff yet.
If the *228's don't work, take a Muligan and hard reset.

Don't do a Hard Reset. Mine Needed a Stab to get it going. This 6.1 update is beginning to S*&K. but my Employee hasn't had a lock up and I told him not to install anything yet.

I think dangerous might be right about the lock-ups having something to do with an Exchange data issue. For the first time, I actually caught my i760 locking up. It was in sleep mode and beeped to let me know I had received a new e-mail. I immediately went to read the e-mail and found the i760 locked up. From past lock-ups, the symptoms included dark screen and no notifications of incoming calls, e-mails, or text messages. Thus, I know it wasn't locked up immediately before the e-mail arrived and locked up upon receipt of the e-mail.
I do have one other theory: The i760 was angry at me because it knew I was considering getting an iPhone. Supporting this theory: Yesterday's lock-up occurred about 20 minutes after I bought 2 iPhones, one for me and one for my wife.
I probably won't be spending much more time trouble-shooting the i760.

Keyboard lock bug. I haven't been on here in a couple days, but just in case here is a bug I found. On occasion (can't get it to replicate every time) after I do the key lock, it looks like it locked (unlock shows at the bottom), but I can still click every key. Absolutely no keys lock. I usually fiddle with it and get it to appear normal again then lock again and it will lock. Not a big deal but it's starting to annoy.

I have experienced that as well, i think it was when i had a notification or something. It required me to do a SoftReset. i could hit the screen and it would do things, but i couldn't unlock it 100%.

I don't think it is Exchange because I have not set up syncing with an Exchange Server since the 6.1 upgrade. I am getting email from Windows Live though. Just had another one of the random lockups. Only things running were Messaging and PIE. I'm thinking it's one of those, stock, that is the problem.

Hmm...well, there goes the Exchange theory. Maybe it's just has something to do with accessing the wireless data network?

I did a hard reset 1 week ago, was frustrated with a dead phone. I did not install anything for a couple of days and had no problems. I have recently added a few more apps purposely avoiding Spb PP and all is still good. I am convinced MY problem was because of Pocket Plus. Maybe this is not as simple as 1 app not working with 6.1 rather a combination or combinations of apps. I still suspect TCPMP because it took a couple of versions til one worked.
Did anyone else notice the windows busy icon continually popped up when they were having this problem? Even when the phone was idle?
Also I am now looking for a new launcher app, does anyone have a sugestion that works with 6.1?
PhoneAlarm v. 2.0 has pretty good launcher capabilities now and some pretty good skins that use it well. I am not giving up on PP yet, but I think I could now just using PhoneAlarm.
Well, I successfully upgraded my i760 to WM 6.1. No real problems due to the excellent notes on this forum. I had the Post error and had to try the phone update about 5 times to get it right. If I had not been reading the comments here I might have panicked. I think my problem with the phone update was me. When I would reset it kept booting into the WM instead of completing the upgrade. However I was trying to keep Active sync well active and that seemed to be the problem. When I left it alone it worked. I have iLaucher and Pocket Breeze working pretty good.
NOW TO ME ISSUE (sorry for the delay)
After upgrading I noticed that my bluetooth Handset is not as loud as before the upgrade. This is a Plantronics 855, which I am happy with BTW.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a registry or control file somewhere that can adjust the volume range for the headset?
1. Text message times are off (sending is correct -- receiving is incorrect).
2. Lock is finicky
3. Sometimes I am unable to close a problem (no "x" displays in the upper right hand corner of the screen)
Other than those three issues, nothing else to report right now.

I have been using Quick Menu, setting it so that when I hit an x, the app closes. This keeps my memory clean and available. I was having the x not appear problem until I started using this freeware solution.

Can anyone give a definitive anwser one way or another on the following:
This assumes that you have upgraded to WM6.1:
- Does the included Samsung Time plug-in for the home screen still have a memory leak?
- Does the freeware version of said Samsung Time plug-in have the same memory leak?
I'm not planning on using it long term, but it'd still be nice to know one way or another, short term.
Thanks.
I would love to be able to answer you, but I have no use for a clock that takes up 1/4 of the today screen real estate. I have never used it and my phone has never locked up. I wonder if those who are suffering lockups are using it, thus helping to answer your question.
