garyhesq i am not sure about you but i was actually considering maybe jumping ship and getting the omnia when it came out for at&t. I think sumsung and mircrosoft need to do some consulting on there touch screens before the omnia is released. if i am the only one that feels this way oh well, but its making me think twice. If i didnt have those "ok" and back buttons i would have broken my phone by now.

Okay so I did some digging and basically I found out that none of the SPB programs are actually approved for WinMo 6.1. I suspected something was odd when I uninstalled everything and reinstalled PP and PS, both came up as registered, which has never happened, and there were several features not installed (Smart Scrolling, the ability to reject a call and reply with sms for example).

So I did a hard reset and all the issues I was having cleared:
-I can now recieve text messages when the device is asleep
-The status light always blinks
-The battery shows less than 100%

So, for what it's worth, if you're having any problems and have SPB programs installed, I suggest that's the first place you start looking. They are trying to fix PP to be fully functional with 6.1 (and my PP worked fine until I installed the rest of my SPB programs) so there's hope. I'm going to give it a good week without any 3rd party apps (except icontact and live search - both I know to work fine) and see what happens.

Ok... 2 things I noticed. First, when I go to send a new text message to someone, when I type in the first letter of thier name, the drop down with all the names in it is no longer there... anyone else have the same problem or was this removed from 6.1

and also, from what I said in the seperate thread about my email count being wrong. there are no new emails but it still says there are 7 new ones.

other than that I love 6.1

Did not have a problem with them re-authenticating my phone. The guy sounded confused and asked my how long I had the phone, and I told him since May. I did not tell him I did an upgrade though. Took him less than a minute to fix.

I just now noticed that when using a custom mp3 ringtone it still has a moment of quite ring followed by really loud ring :/ That's annoying.

Only when you are typing in the actual blank text message.

I think I am going to have to reinstall 6.1

Another bug is that netfront browser is much slower to load a page than IE, when it use to be about the same. Also I noticed when I am not connected to the net, the EV strength in my house is around 1 to 2 bars. Then when I connect it boosts the bar to 3 and sometimes 4. Never did that before with 6.0. Perhaps the new radio upgrade is the reason.

A quick question about the radio. This has not changed from 6.0 to 6.1. I have noticed that when I have only 2 or 3 bars my download speed is slower, than if I was closer to a tower and getting full strenth. Is it because I am closer to the tower?

Do you think most of the problems are with PS? I do not have PS but have PP and have none of those problems. I can recieve messages while the device is asleep, and the battery does show less than 100% and I can ignore calls. The status light does not blink while asleep though.

With hard reset and only PP installed I was still getting these results. I have yet to try to install PS and just leave it be, mainly because I'm sick of hard reseting. I'm inclined to believe it's PP mainly because when I install it its missing a component (smart scrolling) and other users at the SPB board have had problems with 6.1. I posted a thread, guess I'll see if someone responds.

But I would like to use phone suite... perhaps I'll install that since you're not having any issues.

That's the same as before and what I'm currently doing. It would be nice if it just worked though, and I was disapointed to see that wasn't corrected in 6.1.

I don't have phone suite, but PP. So it's odd that you are having those problems with PP and I am not. What version of PP do you have? My smart scrolling works.

4.02 I believe. redownloaded last night after the 6.1 upgrade. When I install it "Smart scrolling" isn't installed, visible, or anything. I should note that last night when I installed PP it worked, only upon subsequent installation of additional SPB programs did it seem to break... I then uninstalled all programs and installed only PP and this was happening. hard reset and it works fine. But once PP was installed I could uninstall til the cows came home, still no smart scrolling installed, battery stuck at 100%, no texts through device sleep, and no status lights (indicating that the radio is off or something else is wrong).

I could try just PP on a fresh reset and see if only installing PP gives me grief...

I have reinstalled SPB Pocket Plus, Phone Suite, and Backup all on my i760 after the 6.1 upgrade and am not having any problems with any of them *shrug*.

Battery seems fixed and smart scrolling reappeared... but now some new behavior:

The device receives the sms while asleep but no notification what-so-ever. Before it wasn't even receiving them while asleep... so I suppose that's progress...

EDIT: okay two weird things... first PP wipe all my notifcations settings... not sure why? anyways turned those back on and discovered this gem:

whenever i turned the screen off via the top button I would not recieve any texts through asleep, but if i let it go off after a minute and then send a text, it was received and notified me. very odd.

But i suppose that means that PP works again though

Wow, it sounds like PP acts differently on each phone with WM 6.1. Really strange. I can push the top button to put the phone in sleep mode, and I still get alarmed when an SMS comes in.

I've reinstalled all the SPB software one at a time and it's definitely PP and PS when installed together that mess with the ability to recieve text messages through asleep. But i've figured out that if I get two texts the first won't give me a notification but it will make the blue status light blink, and therefore I assume make the radio active. Then when the 2nd is received it will notify me... this is quite bizarre. Like I said as far as I can tell I still get calls through.. .at least I think I do. Haven't had anyone say they couldn't get through or leave a message at least.

this is humorous!

Align your screen. I had the same problem, so I went and aligned the screen, problem solved.

If you don't have any sort of data plan you will not be able to connect. If you have a small one then you can connect and go over it.

Angry Installed 6.1 - still bluetooth problem

I installed 6.1 without any problems.
I didn't need to perform 2 installs - after first both PDA and Phone were showing new versions.
I restored my data and reinstalled applications - no problem.
E-mail (Outlook), wireless works fine as before - no problem.
Previous applications work fine.
I like the new task manager and the automatic new email signature (Send from Mobile...) - nice touch.

But I still have my biggest problem not fixed - BLUETOOTH :
(See my post: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/742853-post45.html.)

The problem still exists - not fixed!
Prius disconnects the pairing shortly after initial connection. The only way to restore it is to power off and restart a car!

And because California requires now hand free cell phone usage while driving, I'm seriously considering other options (phones, PDAs).
I really hoped that 6.1 would fix this problem.
It's not Prius - my previous Motorola and PPC6600 didn't have an issue.
My wife's LG does not have a problem.
