after upgrading, I notice that my backlight setting doesn't want to 'stick'. I set the backlight to go off after 2 mins, and the phone to sleep after 3. Of course, backlight 'off' on the i760 actually just dims it.
At any rate, now every time I reboot the phone, it defaults to dimming the screen after 10 seconds. I go into settings, but it still says 2 mins. Once I have gone into settings, it goes back to dimming after 2 mins. Annoying, and a hard reset did no fix it. Never did it on 6.0.
Is everyone's wifi working? I can connect to my router but the connection is not consistent. Internet explorer is spotty and it'll work sporadically. Anyone else?
I receive the following error message when I try to sync my i760 on my work computer. "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop. Support Code: 86000107" I am syncing between two computers. My work computer is running XP with ActiveSync 4.5. My home computer is running Vista. Prior to upgrading to 6.1 I did not have a problem syncing on my work computer. Does anyone have any idea why I am receiving this error?
I wonder if using the updater for Vista when you updated your ROM, makes your phone unable to use ActiveSync when connecting to a XP system? Maybe there is now a file on your phone that was put there by the updater program.

After posting my problem I did more searching on the Internet and found the answer. I needed to remove any previous relationships on my work computer in ActiveSync. After doing that I then reconnected my i760, created a new relationship and it is syncing just fine now.
I had that problem too. I had to re-authenticate my phone by calling Verizon, and that was after I did the #228. I have noticed that since the upgrade, my EVDO signal is not as strong in my house as it use to be, and sometimes kicks in to dialing #777 instead. Perhaps weather related, I don't know. But it does work.
Did Verizon give you any trouble when you did this? It is getting very annoying with the phone popping up literally every 30 seconds asking for the password to connect to Broadband Access.
Since the 6.1 upgrade my phone has been having a lot of connection issues. It is always losing signals and I get alot of error messages when I make phone calls.
since upgrading the only real issue i have anymore seems to be with the touch screen. Has anyone noticed its impossible to get some error messages or even just hitting the x to close an open program? i find myself having to the hit "ok" key and other buttons just to get programs to close. I tired doing a screen realignment bit when i bring it up in settings nothing happens, i hit the x and it doesnt move!!!! anyone having any touch issues? the touch issues only seem to be with closing app, error codes, and screen alignment. Surfing the web everything is perfect. ph ya and the touch is messed up for using the on screen keyboard. it wont let me use any keys on the outside edges it will only allow to hit ones in the middle.
Djlactose as far as your reception goes, sounds like its possible your phone may have not installed the radio update correctly. i think jastech in one of the threads gives you the new serial numbers for the update. just make sure you phone version matches what he has posted. if it doesnt you need to reinstall, i hope that helps your issue. i dont remember where the post is, but its here just look for it.
FYI...settings post-proper 6.1 install (at least on mine)...
S/W Version
PDA: S:i760.07 V.BD14.19202
Phone: S:i760.07 V.BD14
Eboot: 02.00
H/W Version H:i760.07 V.Q
PRL / ERI P:51056 E:00004
Bluetooth Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR
Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g
(Yes, I know this is redundant to other posts...but I also know that many are in a bit of a frezy right now and quicker access to information is helpful right now.)
All -- this is probably redundant as well, but be sure and do *228 twice after any hard reset (including this update)...once for option 1 and again for option 2. (option 2 should, btw, be done on a regular basis)

My versions match the above, but I will retry the update anyway. It had been working fine for the past two days, then all of a sudden I stopped receiving calls and my phone kept getting the errors.

Instead of doing *228 option one you can also just call *22899 for PDA phones to update the software (what ever Verizon is referring to).
Man seriously at this point I wish I hadn't upgraded yet...
Everything was fine yesterday, now my text messaging is busted "Failed to send text message" every time I send, my EVDO signal sucks and keeps dropping out (I did verify that my radio firmware was updated to the version posted). Even after several hard resets and calling *228 I don't know how many times for both options, none of this is being fixed.
The actual upgrade went smoothly, with only the one hitch that everyone was getting where I had to manually reboot the phone to upgrade the last part. But now my version numbers all match what has been posted.
I shoulda just stuck with the old saying "if it ain't broke why fix it"... phone was working wonderfully before......
I'm having some weird issues related to power I think.
One thing is that the battery icon is always shown as charging, or 100%. never actual value. I can soft reset til the end of days, still says 100%.
Also, it seems as though whenever the screen is off, I do not text or mms notifications. I do receive phone calls, so the radio is obviously on, but i dont get notice of text or mms until the screen is turned on.. .kinda sucks.
Another weird thing - used to be that when screen was off the status light would contiune to blink for all things (all different colors, i don't remember what they mean). Now when the screen is off the light is off and never blinks. light starts blinking again when screen turned back on.
3rd party apps.
I removed all of my SPB apps, didn't solve.
iContact still installed as well as Esmoterec Jbed.
Cannot figure this out
EDIT: Upon further testing and removal of all 3rd party software installed, it seems that when the screen goes out the radio does as well... for example, in addition to not recieving any text messages, my wifi connection disconnects when the screen is off and reconnects when i turn it back on and there is no blinking green light or blue light or any light.

I am having the same problem. I have hard reset three times now and it has not improved. I aligned the screen several times also. Very irritating.
My install went perfect...I did not have to manually reboot the phone...and I am having none of the issues stated above with the screen....the phone radio turning off or anything.. I wonder if this manual reboot had something to do with these issues!
