I am on a Vista machine and when I connect my phone to sync everything goes fine and the sync happens, but when I go to disconnect the phone, I ALWAYS go to the system tray on my PC and use the 'safely remove hardware' feature to disconnect the Samsung phone before I pull the cable from the phone.
Since my 6.1 upgrade, the Samsung never shows up as connected so I have no real means to 'safely' disconnect the phone...
This is my first post. first I would like to thank all you folks for the wonderful
contributions you make on this forum. After reading all the posts here I decided to take the plunge for the update. It went very successfully. I then proceded to reinstall everything from scratch. SPB backup still works perfectly.Installed Today's agenda, weather watch, ultimateLaunch, PDA status. So far so good, knock on wood. I had issues with hitting one key and getting an entirely different result with the stylus. A screen realligning fixed that.Bluetooth and Wifi connections have actually improved over previous version. I am able to use wirelesssync with wifi connection. I do not have a data plan and always remember to delete #777 after a hard reset since I am a pay as you go customer. anybody else done this? I was told or I read on this forum that the only way to use wireless sync is to have a data plan.
Again thank you all for the awesome job you do on this forum. I have owned my I760 for 6 months now, and the only thing that keeps me from lossing my mind is this forum.
My upgarde went perfectly no problems unlike when I upgraded to Mobile 5 on my i730. I am having one annoying problem now since the upgrade. When I am tethered and a phone call comes in or I dial out the modem disconnects. In the past the modem went into dormant mode but never disconnected. Why would they mess with the DUN?
Sounds like the same problem that I was having (only it was a four hour differnece with text). Called Verizon and they were of no help. Ended up that my time setting was set to manual. Check in "Settings>Phone>Services>-Networks and be sure that it is set to automatic.
Does this happen with every person you are txting or just on in particular?
And if so, does this person live in a different time zone or have their time f'd up?
I know when I txt people in different time zones it came up as their time so it would seem messed up. (I was using Palm SMS before upgrading)

I upgraded a while ago, like two weeks or so....ever since I upgraded, I haven't been able to send email. I get e-mail fine (the incoming server works) it's the outbound smtp sever that is screwed up.
Anyone have any suggestions? Does VZW have their own outgoing server now that I am required to use?

I have my popmail outgoing setup thru VZW mail's outgoing serving which has been rock solid since January. You will need to setup an account on vzw.com and the outgoing serving on the PPC will be as such with # being you cell phone (##########@vzwmail.net) and the password will be the password you created for you vzw.com website account. Hope this helps.
WMP stops playing when you "X" to go back to the previous screen even though it's still running in the background. Also, I you attempt to "lock" the phone while the MP is playing, it will also stop.

Anyone else experience this?
When you have Windows Media Player open go to Menu>Options... and uncheck "Pause playback while using another program"
Hello Im new here just joined today and Im in class so Im sorry if this was posted prior in this thread or in a different thread.
Anyhoo I just just baught the phone last week love everything about it started customizing the hell out of it worked perfectly fine on windows 6.0 then I did the upgrade to 6.1 for main reason most of us upgraded to be able to read SDHC.....
Well my problems are as follows
- the vast majority of my customizations of my phone IE Ifonz, Icontact, S2Unlock, aim eyephoto (friend has an iPhone so I lawl at him) and opera all get the windows has encountered an error the send do not send comes up.....
It even pops up with the default internet explorer...... this happens when the phone idles.....
this never happened with windows 6.0 Im just wondering if anyone else expierenced this as well as does anyone know how to fix this if it even is fixable?
Once again I want to apologize if this was located somewhere else or has been previously mentioned
Did you restore from a backup or did you reinstall the software? If you reinstalled from a backup, you will encounter these issues and more. It is never a good idea to restore from a backup from one version of an operating system to another.
If you did not do that, I have no idea why you are having those problems since I am running S2U2 without the issues you are listing.

I was thinking about backing up all the software ect but the only things are the ovbious pics and music not software... can this be my issue I installed all the software on the sd card? but even so I dont udnerstand why internet explorer in itself sometimes fails... should I uninstall the programs and reinstall some of them on the device or should this even matter? thank you once again for your comments
After I upgraded it broke my text messaging. While my phone is on I don't receive any texts, if I restart it then it tells me I have x number of text messages. But when I try to view them there's nothing in the text messaging inbox.
Update: After two calls to Verizon I was able to fix it. The first person had me enter a new authentication number into my phone and that didn't solve the issue so they said they would call back (never did). I called again and the person on the phone had me do a hard reset and that brought the texting back.

Anyone have a fix for this? Called Verizon twice no dice. Having the exact same problem.
I'd try a couple of things. In no particular order, they are:
Hard reset the i760 and run without any third party software for awhile in case it's a software conflict issue
Call VZW and ask them to reprovision your i760
Try reinstalling the WM 6.1 update in case it didn't "take" properly.

Anybody else having this issue? I keep getting random crashes of various programs. The only correlation I've found so far is that the programs that are crashing are installed to storage card instead of flash.
