Strange thing with ActiveSync, it has created a second mobile device. When I originally installed activesync on my pc and connected the phone the mobile device was named SCH-i760. Now there is a second one which was created with 6.1 and it is called WM_xxxxxxx1 The xxxx part is my name. The second on is now what activesync recognizes.

I do like the new feature when a text message is sent to you, and you reply back, the window stays open and it acts like a chat session.

[quote=dangerous;744259]I changed the time, did a Send and receive with my exchange server. It changed back to mountain.

I am now changing to AZ and rebooting to see if this fixes that bug. Nope. when it came back up it was in mountain timezone.

Both phones on reboot go to Mountain time zone. this isn't good.
QUOTE]

yes...we actually have found the fix for this...mine and iprob8's were doing the same...you have to go into settings...phone....scroll down to time...change setting...and then check the manual circle in timezone setting..after that its all good!

edit: guess you found the answer while i was posting

anytime you do a hard reset activesync creates what it calls a new partnership. This is what you are seeing...It would benefit you to delete the old partnership!

Anyone else try 8 GB cards?

I did some more fiddling with it the other night....It balloon prompted me this time when I inserted the card to view all pictures on the card. Which shows me it is recognizing it. I can view and edit files on the card, I can play music off of it, I can even save data to it....The only thing that I found is WMP will not recognize the storage card from the library screen...it acts like its not there!

Where's the New GUI?

I updated my 760, but the GUI is still the same on the Today screen. I thought that there is a new gui for 6.1. Am I missing something?

(ABOUT shows it's v6.1)

6.1 Standard (non touch) has the new home screen. We Pro users are stuck with the same old boring home screen.

For those who had issues with WMWifiRouter.... go to the WMWifiRouter site and download the other version with an i appended on the end "1.05i".

Takes care of the unsuccessful installation and works great! You still need to install the internet connection sharing cab fro xda.

It would be nice to have a separate thread with 6 & 8gb card results. I currently have a 4gb card that I used the SDHC hack under 6.0 to get working, but it's full now. I would sure like to hear about someone having success with an 8gb card.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. I waited until WM 6.1 to purchase the 855 so I have no experience with the it using WM 6.0. Prior to that, I had the old Moto 550 (or 505, I forget the model number). So far, with the "only during free time" box unchecked, no announcements come through the bluetooth or the wired headset. Very strange.

I've also just purchased a Plantronics 222 Mono headset and it doesn't get announcements, but I can press the headset button to initiate VC.

Hmm, worked for me under 6.0. I just upgraded to 6.1, so I will check this in the morning to confirm stanglifemike's finding. I wonder if you have a bad headset. Will the button answer and end calls (instead of using the slider)?

Unhappy no call announcement in BT headset is known bug...

at least for WM 6.0.
avandelay, afaik, no BT headset receives the announcement of the name of the caller. However, it should read the text message.

I am talking about 6.0 -- still waiting to hear how it is working in 6.1

router doesnt like your MAC?

MT, my router is set to talk to only certain MACs -- does yours do this?

From some other posts i have read here, people are saying their MAC has changed after the update to 6.1. Sounds strange, i know, but that's what some have said...

Thumbs up

Turning the device off while the camera program was running used to render it comatose until I pulled the battery and restarted it. Now when I turn it off and back on it wakes up right where it was, with the camera app still open! This makes me very happy as I had to restart the device a lot when I first started using it.

Also, I can confirm that my wifi MAC address did indeed change with the update. I had to change the setting on my router to re-allow it. Very strange.

Curious....what wireless A/P are you trying to connect to? After upgrading to 6.1 I can't connect to my wifi at home, which is a Linksys. However I have no problem connecting to my wifi at work, which is a Proxim.

Bug Fixed - OWA accepted appointments now showing up in Calendar

The ce 5.2.979 build 17233.0.0.0 had a bug with OWA (outlook web access/webmail of exchange).

When my users accepted appointments from OWA they would not show up in their calendar.

If the users accepted the calendar appointment via outlook worked ok, accepted via the phone it worked ok, but accepting it via OWA moved it out of the inbox and onto the calendar on OWA but not on the phone. I have a number of users that are off site in buildings with limited verizon signal so this was a big deal.

Thanks samsung

That's correct, I did get announcements through the speaker under 6.0 (even though all announcements were set to go through BT only). With 6.1, I get no announcements of any kind. I don't understand why.

HAHA! That's great news. When I first got the thing it kept locking up on me and I thought it was a lemon until I figured out the camera thing. Good to see it was fixed!
