I'm not sure if this is necessarily a "fix" or a result of a relatively fresh system, but I'm no longer having the issue where using the keyboard would always result in missed letters. Before I would have to type very slowly to ensure that it was registering every letter. Now it seems I can type at a normal speed and not miss any letters. Has anyone else noticed this too?
I hated this phone for that reason, but no longer happens, I couldn't be happier now.

Thats what I was saying earlier when I said entering text is faster....I used to have to type slowly...now it seems to be much faster!

I don't understand what you mean... all 3 of mine seem to work?
3? I have 1. In landscape mode , the button that is located in the top left hand corner and resembles an envelope. Push it and tell me what happens. On my stock i760 with WM6 and now with WM 6.1, it gives me, (and others) a shortcut error. I have to remap that button using AEButton plus.
The new Internet Explorer will not open up certain full web pages. For instance Nytimes.com. It defaults to the mobile version. I can't bring up the full web version. I have seen the registry hacks for 6.0, but they don't seem to be effective for 6.1?
To hard reset the SCH-i760 handset follow the steps below:
Slide open the Qwerty keyboard then rotate the handset into landscape mode
Simultaneously while pressing the Action key insert a thin blunt object (such as the stylus) into the red reset hole for a few seconds
I can confirm this works for wm6.1 Thought it might help...
Do a search on google for tcpmp and wm6.1, it's a tcpmp problem. As I posted before, you need to get the recompiled version of tcpmp for wm6.1. The skunworks flashvideo bundle maps the youtube videos to be used with tcpmp, you will still need tcpmp to watch the videos.
In my opinion don't bother with the built in youtube support of 6.1. For me it only worked with m.youtube.com and full screen had huge black borders encompassing it. TCPMP is by far the best option.
With tcpmp and skunkworks you can watch videos on youtube.com
I just installed the new build of tcpmp for 6.1, and tcpmp keeps crashing right when the video is about to start. It opens tcpmp fine, and then automatically presses the play button, but a few seconds later, it crashes and closes itself. Are there any special options you had to select in the new build to get it to work? Or did it worked right away for you?

Yeah that's the same one I used. It works fine when viewing offline content so idk. Did you use the same skunkworks flashvideobundle from before? and what order did you install it? maybe that matters also.
See, that's what I was thinking. Saying - Google TCPMP and WM6.1 does no good when there's multiple versions. I did this one and it works great so far:
Also SPB PocketPlus 4 working great for me so far (fresh install)
Now to see if the Sirius WM5 player works ... *crosses fingers*
I know it's early, but has anyone tried S2U2 - I guess I'll go ahead - heck a hard reset at this point would be painless.
*Sirius WM5 WORKS!! HUZZAH!!
S2U2 seems a bit wonky - was activating after 15 seconds. Will mess around with it tomorrow - right now just using it "manually". Not sure if it's just a messed up seeting. (beyond coming on sooner than expected it seems to work just fine.
** S2U2 works great - it was the 10 second screen shutoff setting outside of S2U2 - increased it.
MortPlayer works as well. Almost back up to speed! (I know I should just try the phone asis for a few days, but I have life and work to do - can always start over this weekend)

My bad, I wasn't aware there were multiple versions of the recompiled version. In any case I did use the original FlashVideoBundle, and I installed TCPMP first then the bundle.

Got it to work, it was because I had installed the flashvideobundle first and the tcpmp second. I unistalled them, reinstalled them in the correct order, and now it's up and running. Thanks!!
Just a quick question... If i was going to upgrade, can i still do the replacing the pim.vol to restore my contacts after upgrading to 6.1? I'm just worried about losing my contacts... T_T Thanks in Advance!
One thing that I have noticed is when you send SMS messages you don't get the dreaded 'message sent' notifications. I always had to go to the registry and tell it not to show them.
I haven't tried it myself, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Sucessful install of 6.1 last night. A huge "thank-you" to the folks here linking to the update. If I had to estimate an over/under date when Verizon will make it availible, I'd bet even odds they'll make it availible in 2-3 months.
As far as bugs... none yet with the OS, but I have found a minor compadibility glitch while using SPB Mobile Shell:
When selecting to use a colored winbows "theme", I get a massive lag folowed by what appears to be a system lock. I'm assuming whatever settings Mobile Shell used to access/change features in 6.0 have moved in 6.1. Just a guess. Everything else appears to be pretty seamless.
Also noticed using the same installed programs (in th same locations) I've lost a little of the internal storage (48.54MB availible... maybe 1.5-1.6 MB less than with 6.0)... but I seem to be running consistantly with 3-5 MB more Program Memory. I now hover around 22-26MB availible under 6.1 vs. 18-22MB in 6.0.
So after the install(on a replaced phone after the first was bricked) I just wanted to see what happens if tired windows update. I am getting error relating to the connection update service was not available. It has been doing this for 4 hours now. BTW I connected via WiFi(no data).
I haven't had that problem with my SPB pocket plus. I didn't restore from backup, instead I reinstalled the software from scratch.
I restored it from my backup with WM6. Was that a bad idea? It seemed like a good idea so I wouldn't have to reset all the email and settings. But now my phone seems to have slowed down a little while everybody elses is going faster. Is an uninstall of all SPB programs in order or a hard reset and reload of 6.1 necessary?
so yea....i got my i760 today and did the 6.1 update right away! i messed around with the internet before i did the update since i have a wireless router and it worked fine. but now after the update i cant seem to get the wireless working at all. can anyone help me?
