I have no issues watching youtube vids on mine...with no third party software.....everything seems to be faster...Even typing on the keyboard seems snappier. I love the threaded sms (I like the fact that also if a message fails in either sms or mms it asks you if you want to resend instead of having to go into the drafts folder...select and resend) onenote seems like a great new addition, the new task manager is pretty sweet as well. I am going to be tryin the 8g card tonight.
As far as the new setup application to set your device up....ehh....I guess if you don't know what you are doing its a pretty cool feature. I also like the fact that i didnt have to go searching for the remote desktop software...its included. So far I am pretty happy with the upgrade...nothing major....like i said seems to snappier overall.....the threaded sms is worth the upgrade in itself! I will post results of the 8g card tonight!

Just got done installing. Went pretty well. I thought, based onw hat i've read and youtube videos i've seen, there was a new GUI on 6.1? My 'Windows Mobile 6.1' Theme looks like Windows Mobile Green.....just a little different.
Same for everyone else??

Just to clarify something on the youtube videos. i am using skunkworks flashvideo bundle. When i try playing videos with that software i get crash.exe error. when i try with all the software removed just using windows 6.1 nothing happens i click on watch video and nothing. anyone else not able to play youtube videos at all? any suggestions. and yes i am using mobile version of youtube
Spb pocket plus doesn't seem to be fully funtional with 6.1. I'm not able to use the scroll feature with I.E. and my file explorer seems to be back to the standard way without the expanded folders I use to have with WM6. However, the close function works so I don't know what's going on.
I haven't had that problem with my SPB pocket plus. I didn't restore from backup, instead I reinstalled the software from scratch.
I just tried the 8g card. I can access the files that are stored on it....I can play music from file explorer....however there seems to be some issues with it. WMP will not recognize it and when I plug in the card I don't get the usual balloon prompt to view pictures on the card. I will do some more fiddlin with it and get back to you!

SKYPE no longer works with 6.1. Have to use fring instead. After upgrade I did the *228 and that seemed to work. But I could not send and recieve calls or SMS. When I tried to make a call i got the message that Verizon could not authenticate the phone, so I had to call the number in the message. Person on the other end was confused why it stopped after I have had it for a few months. I told him about the 6.1 upgrade. He did a few things and now it's working.
One thing that is missing that I liked with 6.0 is seeing what programs were running when tabbing on Start-Settings-System-Memory. There use to be 3 tabs...Main...Storage Card...Running programs. Now only the first 2.
So everything updated fine, but when I try to play youtube videos I'm having no success.
If I click on a video from the m.youtube site, it will open it in WMP but as soon as it starts buffering it says "Network Error". Anyone else having this problem?
I also tried the desktop version of the site, to no avail since it is flash-based.

Do a search on google for tcpmp and wm6.1, it's a tcpmp problem. As I posted before, you need to get the recompiled version of tcpmp for wm6.1. The skunworks flashvideo bundle maps the youtube videos to be used with tcpmp, you will still need tcpmp to watch the videos.
In my opinion don't bother with the built in youtube support of 6.1. For me it only worked with m.youtube.com and full screen had huge black borders encompassing it. TCPMP is by far the best option.
With tcpmp and skunkworks you can watch videos on youtube.com
FYI, I just started a new thread devoted to WM 6.1 bugs, including WM 6 bugs that are not fixed by WM 6. The new thead has been stickied.
Let's use this thread just for new features and for bugs that have been fixed.

In PIE, when i go to youtube.com, it automatically forwards me to m.youtube.com. When browsing videos, I click the "Watch Video" link. I then get a message that says "Running a system command on this item might be unsafe. Do you want to wish to continue?" I click Yes and Windows Media opens the rtsp:// link, buffers the video, and plays it fine.
2 issues though, I can't suppress the "running a system command..." message. It appears after each click to the "Watch Video" link! Grrrr! The other issue is that Full Screen in Windows Media isn't really full screen. At least not for these youtube videos. But at least they play now!

I'm not sure if this is necessarily a "fix" or a result of a relatively fresh system, but I'm no longer having the issue where using the keyboard would always result in missed letters. Before I would have to type very slowly to ensure that it was registering every letter. Now it seems I can type at a normal speed and not miss any letters. Has anyone else noticed this too?
