And this is in the Samsung i760 forum because? Not to be a forum Nazi - BUT - I don't see the relevance of this being posted here.

There are many post in this forum that are not the exact "i760" relevance. But interesting non the less. I thought others might like to see the News as I am sure many come here and only click on i760 not BlackBerry or whatever else. SO be kind to others. The Moderators will move/delete it and take away my birthday for trying to bring more interest to this forum.

Where would be the appropriate forum? As an i760 user, I pretty much only frequent this forum, and news regarding my phone's possible successors and/or upgrades are relevant information. So am I missing the 'rumor' forum somewhere?

I've let this thread go for the reasons gorgalis and Rowdyrod expressed, namely I suspect a lot of folks who have i760s only check the i760 forum but yet might want to be aware of what devices might be forthcoming. Thus, I'm inclined to leave this thread alone for now, at least until the HTC devices are actually released. Also, let's be sure we don't let this one thread turn this forum into the HTC forum; we already have a few of those.

Bah, I wouldn't take an HTC device for free, much less buy one.

Anyway, all I saw was a picture with alot of different devices. Which one is which? What are the specs? How many bouncing tata's can I fit on one screen?

Just joshing about the last bit there, I do like me some boobs though.

iProb8, My intent was to inform us i760 what the news stuff is and I did post on the i900 by Samsung. This way we know what is out there and how to compete with the i760 or? But that is our choice. I only like the HTC do to all the ROM's available but will keep working on the i760 along with alchamista and a few others to be able to bring the i760 users EVERYTHING the HTC can do. I did not and do not intend for this to be "another" HTC thread. TIA, JASTECH

Wow nerds, relax. This is a cell phone forum. I wish people posted more stuff here besides just "How to" questions.

Any posts on similar devices makes for good debates on specs and personal preference.

By way of clarification, all I was saying is that I'm fine with leaving the discussion of HTC devices continue in this single thread, but I don't want to see a bunch of other HTC threads popping up in the i760 forum (keep in mind the difference between a forum and a thread). I certainly didn't mean to imply that I expected a bunch of HTC threads to suddenly start appearing here.

I understand JASTECH's intentions in starting this thread and don't have any problems.

I tried the 6700 and the 6800. I think the build quality absolutely sucks.

Hey Jastech ... could you elaborate your post by giving us a link to the article as well...
Over all I find (and others it seems) samsung devices to have better build that HTC.

Life outside the i760 forum is confusing and scary.

After going from Treo 700Wx to the i760, I can no longer use a device that does not have a front keypad/keyboard. I hated the 6800.

It's not HTC, but I have a demo of the new Q9c and I actually liked the keyboard. I need to try the 6900 but with no front real keyboard I just don't know.

Give me front keyboard/keypad, or give me death!!!

Ok I have a question about HTC. I remember a while back everyone was complaining about the video drivers and how they weren't updated. But I have also heard there are a lot of updates for their devices... all the while we are sitting around wondering if we will get 6.1, or even get a BT patch. (I have heard Samsungs are rarely ever updated)

My question is... which is better? A Samsung that has minor flaws, or an HTC where you have major problems that eventually are fixed?

I am new to Pocket PC's, and I really like the i760 so I might be hesitant to change manufactures when my NE2 is up... so I really would like to hear from someone who has experience with both circumstances.

I wouldn't be too quick to blame Samsung for the update. The Samsung Blackjack got updated to WM6... and the Blackjack II is slated for 6.1. I think AT&T is more willing to offer updates for it's customers. I feel Verizon is not.

Samsung is def a decent manufacturer. You're NE2 won't be for a while... by then do some research... check out CNET reviews. Ask around.

By then maybe an Android phone? Or maybe Windows Mobile 7 will be out. Who knows then... right now... the Samsung is a decent phone manufacturer.

Well HTC's are a big hit do to the hacks available. I have a new ROM in the 6700 that i'm selling. It came with WM5 and a lot of software glitches that upset me and had me on the phone to Alltel many of times. Ok, then I started doing hacks to the 6700 and loaded a WM6 Pro ROM with a lot of goodies and I never had any problems after that. It has a lot of fixes ect. included in the ROM so now it is a good phone but I like the feel of the i760 better and the less weight that helps out my injury more do to less pain. So my goal and achamista's and a few others on the forum is to cook a ROM that will have all the whistles and bells like the HTC on better hardware. I hope this kinda explains thing better? Thanks, JASTECH
