Okay, guys, let's chill out and get this thread back on topic, which is how to connect an i760 to a Mac, not whether Macs are better than PCs. I'm definitely one who could have fund debating that issue, but it's not the topic of the thread (or this forum for that matter) so let's steer the discussion back to i760 connectivity with a Mac. If you want to continue the discussion of Macs vs. PCs (or OS X vs. Windows vs. Linux), please go to the Lounge (just be sure to send me an invitation to the debate ).

Hi,

I'm using a Mac and an I760.
No Issues. Tethering works fine.
Using Tiger I was able to tether. Just upgraded to Leopard and had to change a few things but tethering works fine.

tech_head: I'm trying to tether my macbook air with my i760 but no luck. VZW doesn't support it and access manager for os x 10.5 and i760 isn't available. I tried with the version of the access manager for the Motorola Q but after the software was installed on my power book, it wouldn't recognize my phone.

Could you tell me how you were able to tether your 760 with Leopard?

Thanks

Get btmodem.exe for the phone.
Pair the phone by having the Mac discoverable.
(Do have the Mac look for the phone, phone should look for Mac.)

Setup a BT modem on the Mac.
You will enter #777 to dial and the normal user and password from your phone.

It does work.

I have done it under Tiger and Leopard. You need btmodem.exe

I have Missing Sync for my Macbook Pro, works fine. But I can't get seem to get the tether working the way it's described above.

anyone give me a hand? I'd love to tether via bluetooth and then when I'm on the road I could use the charger on my phone while bluetooth tethered to my mac

Appreciate the help!
