lol,
yea it doesn't look too good for this wm6.1 update by time they release it wm7 we'll be right around the corner, not to mention the tons of new phones that will be out by then
That a old upgrade for MS Mobile Office Date Published: 9/26/2007.
Likely not needed on the i760.
I'm in an all-Vista environment, so I was disappointed to find out that my i760 couldn't read Excel 2007 or Word 2007 files. The Office update fixes that problem and closes the only meaningful gap between Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1.
Given this (and I admit my ignorance here), I really do not understand what it is you all (we all?) are complaining about with the lack of 6.1. It can't be all about threaded SMS, right?
What's the point of the Windows Update if it doesn't handle this ?
To give prospective purchasers of WM devices false hope and encourage them to buy a device that doesn't perform as expected.

I managed to essentially "Brick" my i760 the other day. I had just finished hard resetting and loading all of my most used applications. I was doing all of this from my laptop. At the end I was just starting to sync my contacts and files and all that stuff, when I closed the lid to my laptop. Yes it is set to go into suspend mode when the lid is closed and on battery power. Oops! Phone would no longer sync at all and even after uninstalling/reinstalling activesync as well as hard resetting the i760 again and again. I could not get it to come fully back to life. I could hard reset and get basic settings going but as soon as I tried to install anything it would freeze and the background would turn to an aqua color. I say all this because I got an email today from Samsung with a link to a page that lets me monitor the status of the repair. So far here is what it says.
"message from samsung

The part that caught my eye was of course "Sent to S/W for update." Now my question is this... Did they really mean "Update" or just that they were going to flash the phone again with the original firmware?
I will keep you all up to date as I get new information.
