that is kinda funny my I760 gets my email before my work computer or my home computer... the only time my I760 gets my email after my outlook on PC is when put my I760 on wifi or share my web through bluetooth active sync... other wise its pretty instantaneous I know my boss gets annoyed with me for how fast I respond she keeps telling me that if she wanted to talk to me that fast she'd send me a text...
One quick question are you using Wireless sync to access your exchange server or did you connect to a Outlook Anywhere server ..... I know wireless sync has to wait for your computer to see the email before it sends it on to your phone.... I know most companys setup up a blackberry server but leave the OWA disabled which unless you have a VPN setup is the only way besides wireless synce for your phone to connect to exchange and even then when I was using a VPN connection to my home network it was rather slow but that was a big chain for the information to follow

ok next question would be which do you get more often 1x or EVDO Active Sync passes alot more data around than the blackberry server before the actual email push.... in all actuality as soon as you get an email push it checks for phone book, Task and calander changes as the message Downloads then sets the notifier once the Header and partial email are downloaded unless you have your phone set to download full message then it won't notify till the whole message is recieved either way black berry does have a slight advantage over the Win Mobile devices for notification speeds but it really doesn't try to do as much at the same time as active sync and to be honest the black berry was designed to really just be a work phone Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phones where meant to be as useful as a full laptop Media Games Productivity without limitations and access to pretty much everything you can do on you computer
amazing, this thread is going to be as long as the I760 release thread by the time we realize 6.1 "ain't coming". I'm about ready to jump ship and go to the Curve,.. I just setup the BES (Professional server) for the CEO (BlackBerry Professional Server), as soon as i hit the enter button on an email, he's like "Got the email" it was fast....
My I760 takes forever to get email's pushed. will 6.1 fix that? probably not..
Someone talk me out of jumping.. Ok. MarkA.. i'm waiting...
I just confirmation from our Verizon rep that will Samsung has finished and verizon is testing 6.1 now. It will be avalible for the i760 in July. I am not sure who this is going to be avalible to. but I know I will be getting it July so we can start testing EAS with exchange 2007.
Unfortanatly because of the sensitivity of the email I can not copy and paste it so you will either have to take my word for it or jump.
as soon as that slide was released the end of June became a deadline to them
If you look at leaked slides as predictors you wil find that those dates are more sliding deadlines than anything. Examples include both the 730 and the 760 releases.
I'm still hopeful that we'll get it but I'm not holding my breath.

I keep hearing June, this month, soon, and now July. If the release of this phone is any indication, we'll see it in January of 2009 (which is the amount of months Verizon initially said it would be out and then all the delays, it came out 7 months later).
So, July is the new benchmark? July 4th?? 27th? (my birthday) when? Getting sick and tired of Verizon dragging their feet on SIMPLE stuff like this!
We were so googley-eyed over the Samsung i770 in the leaked Verizon presentation that we totally didn't bother checking out the slide for the SCH-i760. Been there, done that, we figured.
Except there was a little tidbit in there, as pocketnow noticed. Looks like it's going to be getting a little Windows Mobile 6.1 love. The best part is it looks like it's going to be getting the love right quick, sometime this month. Hopefully that bodes well for other 6.1 upgrades. We're still smarting from the months we spent sitting on pins and needles waiting for the WM6 upgrades last year, a slew of 6.1 releases this summer would sure be the kind of ointment we'd need to salve those wounds.

This was posted a few pages ago The wait continues
i'm the administrator.. i just think the I760 is slow.
No, you have a problem with you setup somewhere. I ALWAYS receive my new email notification on my i760 before I receive it in Outlook, and I administer our EX2007 server and use an i760. I can guarantee that you have a configuration problem if, as most companies do, you have all of your Outlook users running in cached mode with an inherent 1-3 minute delay for new emails. I would guess that it is a configuration issue on your i760.
Also, why would any company spend money on a separate server for email delivery to their mobile users when they have built-in push synchronization of not only their emails, but calendaring, meeting requests, Tasks, public folders synch etc. etc. There is no comparison between the two platforms.

Yesterday, after having received my replacement i760, I got a call from some data/ tech dept. @ Verizon. I inquired about this 6.1 update and the rep. had no clue, but then went to look it up and found that it is confirmed and due Q3 to which he said most likely July 2008.
I'm just glad vendors seem to be getting the 6.1 update out. Heck, they are even putting out an update for the Verizon Treo 700Wx. (Though they don't actually say if it is 6.1 or not.)
You can do some really cool things with Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 (add to domain, apply group policy, VPN, encryption at rest.) but you need WM 6.1.
We're just stuck in this holding pattern until VZW gets 6.1 devices so if they start putting out updates for the newest Q, i760, Touch, as well as the new global i770 having it out of the box, I'll be in support heaven.
