It would seem that we could validate VZW's schedules by seeing if they have delivered on the otehr promises in that deck. For instance, on the XV6800, did they deliver Rev-A, WM6.1, and BBAC BT in May of 2008? (As promised on this slide: Verizon slide deck reveals Verizon i770, Palm 800w, fun facts - Engadget Mobile)
Not in my area, so I am skeptical of the June date for the i760 WM6.1
The spacing where it says Windows Mobile 6.1 doesn't fit the spacing of all the other bullet points... I think this is fake
The spacing between the last two bullet points is the same on the i760 slide, the i770 slide, and the Treo 800w. On the i760 slide (and others), the bullet points aren't consistently spaced from top to bottom anyway. I've seen plenty of sloppy corporate slide designs, so I don't necessarily count the sloppiness of this one as a fake.
Now, why the Windows Mobile 6.1 line is RED, I have no idea. It's not even the same shade of red used in slide text elsewhere in the presentation, except on the XV6800 slide at the bottom. The red used elsewhere is darker and/or has a white shadow behind it.
It also doesn't make sense that the slide would list "MSFT Windows Mobile 6 Professional" near the top of the list and "WM6.1 Upgrade - June 2008" at the bottom. It would make more sense as a subtopic under the original OS listing. The i770 slide does list 6.1 where WM6 is listed on the i760 slide.
Seems to me that these are old slides which they probably used for when announcing the phones and someone went in to add in (sloppily) additions to the standard info.
I think they really need to brush up their Powerpoint skills. I think you had someone tacking this on last minute and being too lazy to shift down the bullets (person may only have had pics of the slides and not the PPT files). I am going to try to suspend my disbelief on this one and cross my fingers.
Excuse my ignorance - would an upgrade to 6.1 likely solve the BT issues people are having?

I think that these slides were a sales rep's attempt to provide an update for a specific corporate customer. The rep probably modified a set of slides that were part of another, canned update presentation. The i760 upgrade was likely added due to the customer having invested in the phones and pressing VZW for the 6.1 update prior to the presentation meeting. I think these slides and added dates are real.

I'm confident that by now most of you have been on enadgetmoble (duh) to see the news about Big Red getting ready to release 6.1 for the wonderful i760.
Here is my pocket change worth...
I have seen the entire slide show (47 slides) at work today in PDF form, and it was from Q1, and targeted towards a specific client. There is no news on the intranet as of yet, nor does level 3 support "know" about it as of yet. I will keep checking 5 days/week, and when it hits, I will post it here (after trying it out first, of course).
Something else to consider... The other dates mentioned in the PPT file slipped by about a month...

amazing, this thread is going to be as long as the I760 release thread by the time we realize 6.1 "ain't coming". I'm about ready to jump ship and go to the Curve,.. I just setup the BES (Professional server) for the CEO (BlackBerry Professional Server), as soon as i hit the enter button on an email, he's like "Got the email" it was fast....
My I760 takes forever to get email's pushed. will 6.1 fix that? probably not..
Someone talk me out of jumping.. Ok. MarkA.. i'm waiting...

VZW, It's 2009! Time to embrace technology, not suppress it. - oops too late I've moved on over to the iPhone w/ AT$T!
In my office, we have 7 attorneys. Right now, 3 of them have Blackberries (2 of them are long-time BB users and 1 recently got one as his first PDA hone); 2 of us (my partner and me) have WM devices (i730 and i760); and 1 (an associate) has an iPhone. The BB users have been with the firm much longer than my partner, me, and the associate. Our IT guys would much prefer that my partner and I switch to BBs (although I have no idea why). Our associate doesn't use her iPhone for office related stuff so the IT guys don't know or care that she is using an iPhone. However, I'm seriously looking at getting the 3G iPhone so I'll have to see how they react.
To bring this post back on topic, in answer to dangerous' question, I don't think WM 6.1 will increase the reliability of push e-mail. I suspect that the issue is more Exchange server related than mobile device related. I don't see WM 6.1 as being a significant benefit, but that's just my two cents worth. I simply wish they would fix the multiple BT profile problem.

I have an i760 syncing with an Exchange 2007 server. When someone sends me an email 99 times out of 100 I hear my phone chime before I get the email in my Outlook inbox. It works so much faster than my i730.

FYI
I would check the settings on your Exchange server and you could also check the settings on your router/firewall. Look through the event logs on the Exchange server. Or you have the Administrator check it out.
