My Vista Notebook works fine with this (Just got it to work actually). Only problem I noticed was that the ad-hoc connection wasn't connecting by itself on my notebook. I had to go in and manually add an ad-hoc connection in the wizard. I named it "WMWifiRouter" just like it says on the screen. Once I did that, I hit connect on the laptop (it says it's waiting for connections or some such). then went to my i760 -> Settings -> COnnections ->Wifi -> select WMWifiRouter (after the WMWifiRouter software is already running) and hit connect at the bottom left. Yeah, it's a pain, but it connected and worked great. And FWIW, I am using the trial as well.
Thank's for taking the time to post this very usefull bit of information, kept having problems connecting to vista till I found this, now it connects every single time following those steps....
I think this program disabled my ability to use the wifi for my phone.
Anyone else have this problem????
Yes it did the same thing to my phone. I am unable to get the wifi to turn on at all. When I called verizon the only thing they could recommend was a hard reset. I have not done that yet.
I had a problem with connecting to other WiFi's after using WifiRouter.
However, I fixed it by dong the following:
Start->Settings->Connections->Wi-Fi->Network Adapters
Select "SAMSUNG b.g WIFI CARD"
make sure "Use server-assigned IP address" is selected
Then click on OK
Then go to Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->Advanced->Select Networks
In the first dropdown list select "My Work Network".
Select OK
You should be working now.
When done with WiFi go back in and change your network back to "My ISP"

Thanks Mark,
My problem seems more intense. I tried your fix but I dont even have "Samsung b.g. WIFICARD" to select off the list. My problem is not that I cant connect to other WIFIs. My problem is that I cant get the Wifi to turn on at all. On the Wireless Manager page I could select, All, Wifi, Bluetooth or Phone. I can turn on Bluetooth and phone but Wifi is like touching a blank wall. Wont turn on at all. I think it happened after I got frustrated with Wifirouter and uninstalled it. I suspect it removed some very important driver or something for the wifi. Any new ideas anyone. I am very close to a hard reset but as the rest of the phone works the way I like it Im afraid to do the hard reset.

I dont want to sound like a heretic and this probably isnt the place for this but man I spent a week in europe with a friend last week. Talk about frustration. My phone was completely useless for email. No coverage obviously as we're CDMA and my wifi didnt work. He had an iPhone. That thing is slick. He was on and off that thing with wifi spots all over the place. It took him 30 seconds to put my email settings in and all of a sudden had all my emails from the last 2 months on his phone. I've been a diehard samsung fan from i730 to i760 but I have to tell you for wifi the iPhone was slick.

It helps when you know what your doing... My i760 works like a dream. wifi and all..

Mitch - I think I may have done the same thing. My WiFi disappeared completely from the wireless manager after messing around with this joke of a "program." I just ran WMWiFirouter again and it came back. However, I can no longer connect to any wifi networks, even after following the instructions posted earlier.
I think a hard reset will be in order just to get rid of all of the bugs this crappy program gave my phone. Thanks for nothing, WMWiFirouter - it's back to PDAnet for me!
I stalled the ICS files and then the wifirouter, it worked great, the only problem is after I use it my phone gets all ****ed up. Some icons disappear, it gets slow, it really messes up the whole thing. I don't have many apps installed and plenty of room. Have alot of you had the same troubles? I want to use it again but I sick of the hard resets I have to do after each time.
okay, something just isnt clicking here. I installed ICS and wmwifi...it sets up all fine, but at the end of the initiation sequence on wmwifi, it gives me a "fatal error: ???" I have no clue what that means. I did do a hard reset and set up on a fresh device as well. no dice. any ideas?

One question I have is that it seems to be always on, or at least when i760 is plugged in. After I have used it and shut the program down, closed, not minimized, it goes through its steps and even shuts off the wifi but then from my laptop I can do a scan and it finds the wmwifirouter. ....
... Does anyone know if this is expected operation or is anyone else is experiencing this?
Yep! It's happening to me too. I thought I was crazy when I walked around my office and noticed that people 3 floors down from me were seeing my phone. I didn't have the i760 on me at the time, and thought heck that phone has one heck of a signal!
I wrote the developer to advise this was occuring. Haven't heard back. But as you said you can't connect unless you run the app. It's appears to just be broadcasting the SSID. So I'm not all that worried about it.

It's just listed on your PC in your list of networks because you previously connected to it. You can't connect to it unless you have the app running on the i760.
No... That's why I said I was surprised when I people 3 floors down from my office were seeing my hone even though I didn't have it on me at the time. Meaning I HAD had my phone on me sometime in the past with WMWIFIROUTER disabled, and walked in the vicinity of these PCs. My phone's SSID was still showing up as a previously used SSID
I've never used my phone with anyone else's phone but my own laptop.

Of course it doesn't setup the phone as a wi-fi router, so it's only good to connect the phone itself to one PC via usb, but it's easy, quick, and works

Care to elaborate on this? I tried to install those USB modem drivers from the Samsung site but they don't seem to work. I am not sure if this is what you mean by "the USB Modem software" or not.

Yeah it's the software from the samsung website.
Here's what I did to install it:
1. Install the USB Modem Driver software from Samsung to your computer
2. Place the ICSInstall.cab file on your i760 memory (not the storage card) and install to the device from there.
3. Do a Soft-Reset
To get it working:
1. Plug in your i760 to the computer via USB
(On your PC you should now have a new Local Area Connection in your Network Connections that uses the Windows Mobile-Based Device)
2. On your i760, open the IntShrUI application in the programs menu.
(Make sure the "PC Connection" option says "USB", and the "Network Connection" option says "Broadband Access")
3. Hit "Connect".
(The Active Sync should automatically disable itself, and after a few seconds the status on the IntShrUI program should change to "Check USB Cable Connection", and then eventually "Connected". You should also see the local area connection icon on your computers taskbar trying to connect and then connect.
