How to set up email?

Hi I've been trying to get email on my phone. I went to the the verizon store and the guy couldn't do it either. Just made it made it so it pops up ever 5 mins asking for my user name and password, making my phone in-useable. I typed in my email name ed**sd@sohc4.net which is a gmail account and the password. Now it wants the user name which would be ed**sd correct? and then the same password thats for the email account?

Your Gmail must be set up part of Google Apps since your domain name isn't gamil.com. Am I correct? Is sohc4.net your Google domain?

I am also running that way but I'm trying to recall all the tricks as I've had mine set up so long and I use Seven to serve my gmail and not a standard Outlook account.

So you are trying to use either POP3 or IMAP to get gmail on your phone? Have you succesfuly done it elsewhere than your phone (ie Outlook, Thunderbird or some other client)?

I recall there's a setting in your Gmail domain to turn on IMAP if not POP3.

I do believe that your user name must always add the domain name so it should be ed**sd@sohc4.net also.

If you haven't set up POP3/IMAP for your gmail account before now, review all the help on google.

EDIT: By coincidence someone just posted everything you ever wanted to know about setting up gmail on your phone here: [HOW-TO] Setup Exchange with Google. - PPCGeeks
