omnia will not upload or download, what happened?

First, my omnia is stock with no other programs added to it. I mostly just use it as a phone and camera so I don't want to add a whole bunch of programs.

I had always been able to send pictures as emails to people with no problems, until last week. I sent one photo and was trying to send another when a box popped up saying " unable to send, check connection and personal settings". I didn't do anything different between the 2 pics so I don't know what changed to cause this. Later I discovered that if I get any email ads (Amazon, target, etc), and they have a push to download rest of message, the same box saying the exact same thing pops up, even though I am not sending anything. When this first appeard my phone was low on power, 1 bar and prompt to charge had appeared. My friend with a blackberry said his will have the same problem when it is low on power, I guess it tries to save energy.
I have gone through the phone over and over again trying to find some setting that looks wrong or different and just don't seem to find anything wrong. I have tried searching for info on this and just can't find anything so any help on what i need to do to fix this would be appreciated!
Thanks

Well i finally found a verizon person that could help me. She had a few people recently with problems of a similar, but not quite the same, nature. She had me delete my email, yahoo, account on my phone. I then re-created the account with the same info and it now works. I then had the phone get really low on power and it started to do it again but once I plugged it in, it started to work fine. So if you can't send things with your email, try deleting it and then recreating the account.

Hmmm, my pop3 email account receives but will not send. "Check that you have a network connection... account info is correct... quack quack woof woof"

What is the magic about setting it up while inside a Verizon store that will make it work?

I double-triple check the outgoing smtp server name. Can't be the password, since why would it work sending but not receiving?
