SPB multiple applications installed and how they work together
So I currently have SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 and SPB Phone Suite installed and they aren't exactly working seamlessly together, even though they have really helped me to love my Omnia.
I am curious how SPB pocket plus would further enhance the device and is it worth it. I also noticed that mobile shell and phone suite have some redundant functionality. What redundancies would pocket plus add and what setups have y'all found to use these all together?
i deleted phone suite and opted for iconsoft phonex instead and love it. especially for the toolbar it has on the today screen. and it seems to work great with spb mobile shell3.01. and i don't like pocket plus because i think it just uses too many resources and clutters my today screen. and i just don't like the interface either. it just doesn't look professional to me.
i use mobile shell with s2u2 and phoneex and switch between the today screen and shell often. but anyways, i love the toolbar with phoneex. i can turn on wi-fi, bt, airplane mode, broadband access with one touch of a button and one hand, press menu button long for my iguidance navigation all with one hand and while driving. and when i get a call while using iguidance, phonex opens up and when the call completes returns me to my navigation seemlessly. i like the notepad ability while in a conversation available with phonex on the same screen with phonex.
finally, i just think pocket plus is a mess.
I may be wrong on this but I think you'll be hard-pressed to find a software company that doesn't say the same line about not "officially" supporting cooked ROMs. How could they? It would be a nightmare for them.
While in a different software arena, my company will always say the same thing. If there is problem using questionable 3rd-party components, our company line is that we support the normal interfaces. If someone has hacked an interface or replaced it with a 3rd-party interface that "should work like the normal one", we will always insist that if it works with the "normal" components then we are not responsible when "normal" is not used. That said, we'll usually do what we can until we can do no more but we always have that official "out".
I've really become used to using MS3 and Phone Suite. I have an icon on the MS3 screen that sets the PS profile and also an icon that goes to the today screen. Nice...
I am having an issue with SPB Phone suite. When I receive calls from my google voice number, it identifies the caller when I answer and I have to enter a '1' to accept the call. However, the phone suite screen with the 'answer' and 'ignore' buttons is activated and I can't seem to find how to pull up the keyboard to enter a '1'. As I sit there wondering what to do, I take too long and miss the call. Yesterday, it was from my child's daycare - not a call I want to miss.
I couldn't find anything in the phone suite options to turn it off. Any other suggestions?
first let me preface my comment with the statement that my answer will more than likely be of no help to you at all. and this coming from someone who use to fix these software issues at $75.00 a pop. the way i solved this problem with this software was to delete it and forgot about it.

Just a quick update on this.
First, I guess the phone screen that was popping up was not related to SPB Phone Suite, but winmo 6.5. It is a screen that shows the caller's pic with answer and ignore buttons that you have to slide from left to right to select them. Tapping on them does nothing. I found this screen worthless and just answer or ignore with the hardkey buttons. I am not sure how to turn this thing off. When I press the phone hardkey button to make a call, I get the old phone screen that was standard on the i730. Sorry, I don't know what it is called. However, when my phone rings, it comes up with this other screen.
Second, the asking about a '1' to accept a caller was a google voice setting. I turned it off and all is good.
I am curious how to display a keyboard when this other screen is up. Once I answer a call, this screen goes to the standard phone screen.
I understand this is all totally vague but I have not successfully taken a screen shot of either at this point.
