My Sport Training and Other Fitness Programs

Hi, Archi

I started a new thread to avoid hijacking any other.

I just do machines and go to a very busy gym (with my wife). Between not being able to use a machine because there is a tag team sharing it and my wife telling me "gotta go.....," I have never really been able to move down a list. But I will give My Sport Training a shot and see how I can adapt it to my purposes.

One thing I realized while looking at the workout exercise list screen. If you put a note in the notes tab of an exercise, it shows on the workout exercise list. So, you could put a little notation when you completed an exercise. Then with a quick visual glance you could tell which exercises you had completed. You would just have to erase the notations at the start of your next workout. Or you could hijack the exercise duration field for this purpose if you needed the notations tab for something else.

Desktop program interface for My Sport Training on Omnia

Looks like there is a desktop program made by VidaOne that syncs with the My Sport Training for a WM device, VidaOne Diet and Fitness. The main advantage of the desktop program is that it allows Polar Heart Rate Monitor data to be downloaded. Although VidaOne has a WM program, VidaOne Polar, that allows data from select Polar devices to be captured and viewed directly on a WM device, unfortunately the download requires an infrared reader and the Omnia doesn't have one. So I'm looking into if I capture my Polar S625X data on the desktop program, I can then view at least the summary data in My Sport Training on the Omnia (I can enter it by hand, but that's a drag).

Exercise is exertion and a HRM is the best measure of exertion and it can record your rate of exertion in great detail. There is quite a difference between workouts where 1200 kcalories is expended in 45 minutes versus 5 hours in terms of training effect!
