Omnia observations 3rd week

Sorta settling in on this phone, however these things bug me:
Volume on BT through Garmin nuvi is lower than i760 can't seem to adjust..
Call history doesn't work at all through BT Garmin like i760..
At times the device operates sluggishly (I think maybe when email is downloading in the background)..
Si910.10 V.BJ28.2027
Garmin nuvi 680
Comments/ suggestions welcome. Thank you.

So I guess you are telling me that I need that upgrade. I was waiting for an OFFICIAL 6.5 update from Samsung (turning blue), not to mention the fact that ALL I OWN are 64 bit vista computers.

Maybe Adrynalyne is just suggesting you read? But JonV already answered your question about how to upgrade on a 64-bit computer in another thread:

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsu...tml#post794066

Officially, the Omnia (O1) is not too likely to get a WM 6.5 upgrade by Microsoft's rules - it came out before the upgrade was announced so is theoretically ineligible.... Even the O2 will come out with WM 6.1 but is announced to be officially upgradeable to WM 6.5. (it was announced after the WM 6.5 debut)

Well the upgrade did not fix the call history or the bluetooth volume. It did give me a pretty useless new volume screen.

and don't forget the ability to triangulate within a mile of your current location in case you get lost.

Yesterday when checking email the device turned off, Had to remove the battery to get it back. Screen lock is kind of a PITA in a call, but doing other things, I put it in my pocket and it changes settings, because no screen lock there.

I would recommend doing the registry hack that changes the samsung dialer. It looks more cool and doesn't lock the screen when your talking. I can honestly say that I've had my phone since December and have never accidentally pushed a button with my face while talking with the the screen unlocked.

Hack to change samsung dialer.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:1, you should change to 0 and reboot your Omnia

For locking the screen when not in call I use S2U2. This makes your omnia look like the iPhone when its locked and is really customizable. Mine goes to the lock screen after 30secs of none activity. Also used aebutton to set the end key to lock using s2u2. Some will argue that its eye candy and I agree but its very useful and customizable too.

I don't recall is it just started with 6.5 or not but there is a way to simply turn off the dialer lock. Settings->Personal->Phone->Services->Dialer Touch Unlock

Also if you have Advanced Config you can enable/disable the Phone Skin using that.

Now it froze when I tried to make a call when verizon was off. Also the battery seems to heat up when it's doing email and stuff. Voice command doesn't stay activated if I power it down after a freeze. The hurrier I go the behinder I get.
