Ever since the CF03 upgrade...

Has anyone experienced a weaker signal ever since this upgrade? My phone might say Ev at the top but when i actually make a call it will switch to 1X. Or i seem to have a weaker signal in places that i had no issues before or that show Great covergae on the verizon coverage map. I called tech support and they said i could try a hard reset but i kinda wanted to stay away from that.

I think it always switches to 1x during a call... at least it has always done that for me on cf02 and 03 and previously... I have always shown fewer bars with my Omnia compared to my I730, but the call quality is better, so I figured the bars was just a flakey OS thing...

do *228 option 2 if you haven't already. This will register your phone with the closest towers and should improve your signal. I do this any time I end up significantly away from the towers around my house. Also after a hard reset, because, who know's where it starts out at...

I actually think my service got slightly better after CF03, but its still not great. The Omnia has the worst reception of any Verizon phone i have used. I can't talk in my office which is something I have been able to do on every VZ flip phone I had prior to the Omnia. Don't get me started on the onboard microphone... I need to be on BT for people to really understand me. Oh well, its still a cool device, just a better tool than a phone IMO.

I really haven't had any issues at all with signal strength with VZW, which is why I stick with them. You may want to have them check your device at the local store, especially if a different handset has a better signal with the same service.
