I would say "managed by windows" for google maps and "intermediate" for bing. The only problem I have noticed is that on a cloudy day, I can't get a satellite fix......probably means a weak gps reciever. Don't know if others ran into this issue. On a clear day, I can get a fix even inside the house.

I agree that the receiver seems week. However, i used to use vznav and it picked up gps fine on any day. (i know it used triangulation too, but so does google maps).

Agree. So when my gps (google maps or bing) cant find satellite, vznav still works fine. Lets see if others noticed this cloudy day issue or else I guess I will avoid going to unknown places where no one has gone before on a cloudy day.
No problems here using GPS on a cloudy day. I have read about others having this issue so i make it a point to test this on my Omnia whenever its cloudy.
Google maps works pretty good for me using "windows managed" but Bing gives me the error "Sorry, we could not automatically detect your location. Your current location is....".
Side note anyone else notice that gmaps finally works with the standard keyboard? I'm probably the only person who actually likes using that keyboard but it used to be a pain in the ass to use gmaps because you had to use the microsoft keyboard. Another one of the subtle little changes to the updated rom.
i've been using garmin mobile xt. it takes forever to lock on the satelites... same with google maps... i can usually get it working by the time i get to the place i was trying to go.

But it used to work? If so, what changed?
My google maps and Garmin are pretty much johnny-on-the spot for the most part lately.

Are you on CF03?
Yes, im on cf03. not a cooked rom. It worked fine the first time I tried google maps. When i installed garmin mobile xt, it worked after about 5 minutes of locating satelites. it worked about the same the 2nd time on garmin. the third time on garmin, it took like 15-20 minutes to locate a satelite.. google works about 1/4 of the time with any luck. i don't get it. it works when it wants to. it doesn't make sense that vznav works every time right away but anything else is crap.

I don't use vznaz but could it be that the installation of that interferes? I have found upon occasion that I need a soft reset to clean house and get everything going again. Haven't tried Garmin XT or Google Maps much. Both worked reasonably well 1st time around. I'm Adryn's Vanilla 2.0 WM 6.5 over CF03.

It was preinstalled, but i will try to remove vznav then try again and followup
My experience with my replacement refurb phone is limited but messing around during lunch, the more open sky I have, the faster I get a fix. If I'm in a pretty open large parking lot, I got 3D GPS with 4 to 5 satellites within about 2 to 3 minutes using the COM8 automatic settings in Garmin XT.

The other day when i had the 15-20 minutes before satelites grabbed, it was a very clear sky. i was in the car (passenger side, holding by window or sitting on dash). i went to see a movie, then after i restarted the program (i had completely closed out) and it only took like 3 minutes to get a fix.
For what its worth, I have set the GPS in both Tom Tom and Google Earth to Com 8 @4800 Baud and it seems to be working fine. My only complaint is that Tom Tom is all hosed up with the display versus touch screen spots

Just installed CoPilot Live v8 on my Omnia i910 and while my bluetooth gps receiver is currently missing, I was hoping to get the Omnia's GPS signaling working. I've had no luck with Com 8/Baud 4800 so far. does anyone have any suggestions. I've updated to CF03 and use SPS3.0 trial, everything else is stock. Any suggestions on a where to get the GPS signal?
