My Omnia’s screen is not recognizing my touch to it anymore

I’m not sure what happened to my Omnia but I REALLY need some help! I was at work yesterday (I am a cable installer) and was out working and took my phone out of my pouch and saw the screen was on for some reason and it was on some page. I thought nothing of it, turned the screen off and went back to work. The next time I tried to use it I found out for some reason the screen WOULD NOT respond to my finger’s touch, only to the click of the little mouse! This is extremely annoying and a major headache. I am sure it there is a setting or something for it but how can I get the phone and screen to recognize my touch of it again?

THANKS!!!

I accidentally put my phone in its pouch without locking it and then put the pouch in my pocket. While walking, I was launching random apps!

Try a soft reboot by poking the little hole next to the on/off switch.

This suggestion really did not help. All it did was now ONLY allow me to click the screen with my finger to select something on the main screen. It still does nothing when I touch the keyboard to type a text, dial a phone number or anything else like that. I need some more help or advice cause this is driving me insane!!

Are you able to get to the settings tab? If so you can go to settings>system>screen>align screen and see if this helps? Otherwise a hard reset may be in your future.

If a hard reset doesnt work your phone must be defective.

My buddy Used to keep his in his pocket even when he wore his way to tight jeans. This same problem happened to him and not even a HR worked.

Verizon replaced it for him that day in-store.

One of my 6800's (the first one I think) developed that problem and Verizon had to replace it as a hard reset didn't fix it either. It was a defect in the device.

Good luck
