Fried "my storage" today on my I910

I noticed phone was acting a little weird last night like when I tried to send a picture message it kept saying "unabe to resize." Then today I needed to use wifirouter for about an hour after which I noticed the phone was very hot. Shortly after I tried to use the camera and got an error saying, "the camera needs 5mb of available memory." I thought this was strange since I rarely use the internal phone memory but after checking I saw there was only 1.27mb left. So I deleted 10mbs worth of mms messages and that freed up the necessary memory to allow me to use the camera. Then I realized none of the programs installed to 'my storage' would work. Tried the camera again and noticed when I clicked the play button there were only 5 pictures, all taken back in February.

Summary: Used wifirouther for an hour, phone got really hot, all pictures ring tones etc.. stored on my storage are gone, all programs installed to my storage are gone. I've had the phone since December and never had this happen before... Guess I'll finally give a custom rom a try and if I still have issues I'll have to get a new one.

It just seems safer to put valuable data (pic, docs, etc) on the storage card instead of my storage.

Kinda heard of this problem before. Try reformatting my storage and see if that fixes the problem.

And backup, or move a backup, to your PC or other remote storage from time to time in case you totally trash your phone, SD card and all.

cbusguy,
Did this ever resolve for you? Today I had a similar situation. Took a walk to lunch, put Omnia in my pocket and forgot to lock it. I pulled it out to play a game while I waited for lunch, saw the camera had activated. Turned that off and noticed that all my game icons were the default icon and wouldn't launch. Tried a soft reset and now my launch programs said they couldn't fine their exe files. Took a look and "My Storage" is completely empty, nothing in it!

Will try jaycarl's advice on reformating mystorage. I've got everything backed up but just wanted to see if this had happened to others.

Sorry I never posted a follow up. I did a master reset of the main memory, not storage card, and after that all my stuff was back on my storage card.

Just for potential later use, how is a "master reset on the main memory" done?

Settins > System > Hard Reset
There is a shortcut but I can't remember and when I did know, I couldn't get it to work. I think its like hold in the end key and power button on top.

Glad you got things working cbusguy26.

The problem I was having is whenever I used the camera to take video with default save to my storage the video would be extremely choppy. If I configured the camera to save to SD card everything was working fine.

Solution was to reformat my storage.

Since I didn't want to reinstall a bunch of programs I went into connections, USB connection, changed select function to mass storage, my storage. I then connected my Omnia to the PC and copied everything in my storage to a temp folder on my PC. Then reformatted my storage under my computer. After format was done moved everything back to my storage.

Not only did the camera work better but everything installed to my storage opens and runs alot faster.

Hope this helps someone.
