Official New Omnia(s) Rumor Thread

Lots of Omnia rumors going around the last few days...
And yes I said Omnia's - plural!
Maybe we will finally get a GOOD Omnia!!!

Here is one article from PhoneArena.com - 4 DIFFERENT Omnia's!
Samsung announces four new OMNIA phones (Phone Arena News)

There are plenty more articles out there on Engadget, BGR, etc. too...

Thanks, Lou! Maybe you can sweep the posts in any other new threads into this one so we just have one to read but then as FRH once posted: "let the confusion begin......!" Hooray, another Omnia(s) and lots more enthusiam to follow.

Hey! Why give us a new ROM when they can have us BUY a new phone to get a new ROM?! (sorry, maybe I shouldn't give Vzw that idea!). So, the question is, will any of these have unlocked GPS by the time they get to Vzw?! Or do we pay $$$ to get a gorgeous, hi-res OLED with no GPS.

Really? You asked that question? About VZW?

Fingers crossed that they do right by us with a new phone for once. The OLED would be mazing to have.

I was reading this over at cnet...

Samsung Omnia 2 coming to Verizon | Crave - CNET

I find it interesting that they list the phone as being winmo 6.1 upgradable to 6.5. Why not pre-installed. At least it looks as though there are some half way usable widgets on the device. Look forward to the million or so posts about the new device and reading up on all the rumored specs and release dates.

Yea but it VZW and this phone will probably not be out for another year! 6.5 might beat its release date.

I am going to rename this thread the "New Omnia(s) Rumors Thread" and sticky it. Lets try to have everyone post any/all new Omnia rumors/thoughts/rants in here!

Gorgeous screen and super fast processor. Yet it's stuck with WinMo 6.1 and getting the equally dismal 6.5. And on top of it, we get the nerf meister.. Verizon. What good is it if it's crippled by the two behemoths VZW and MSFT?

We'll wait and see. I'm hopping they do the right thing and let this future tech fly rather than flop.

On my last 3 Sammys the windows rom update wasn't "officially" available until one year after the phones became available. Lemme do the math...

Maybe more patient waiting is best course of action. Check out scheduled win 6.5 releases still to come over at Main Page | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, Smartphone, PNA & Mobile Device Specifications Some sweet phones down the pike.
