Music Player

Anyone know of a good replacement for Touch Player? Since i updated the rom, it doesn't have it... I always see people suggesting Kinoma player in the forums, but i think that program is the worst piece of crap i have ever used. I have tried it on the i730, i760, and the omnia, and it always does the same thing. When you browse for files, it always gets stuck on one and just sits there frozen.. then yesterday, i tried to play some music on it from the few songs it found before it froze the search and it said "memory full".

I'd like something with a good layout like apple/itunes -ish... if there's something available for winmo..

Music players certainly are something of a personal nature to each user. If you want a good, free, popular player go look at S2P. A good full-function player for $ might be PocketMusic. I've used each of these.

FWIW, I've been using Kinoma lately on my Omnia without any freeze-ups. I'm sure the Kinoma support people would like to hear about your trouble so you might open a support issue or go to their forum. They seem to be pretty responsive in thir own and other forums. I don't recall seeing a lot of other folk with your problem of freeze-ups with Kinoma but maybe I missed them. I'm assuming you are using the free player. I used it without trouble but got the new and improved full version through TrialPlay.

Good luck. BTW, I don't know what ROM you went to but have you checked to see if Touch Player is among the cab files you can reinstall back if you liked it so much? Many of the things the chefs pulled can be re-installed.

Thanks. I am using Adrynaline's 1.4 winmo 6.5..

touch player wasn't exactly the best considering u had to scroll allllllll the way thru the songs in alphabetical order... but it wasn't bad...

so if u do a scan of the files thru kinoma, it doesn't freeze? it's crazy that i've had 3 different phones do this. and yes im using the free one. .

No freezing while scanning however I can and do limit the scan to certain folders containing my media.

I may have spoken too soon about others not reporting a problem. I went back to Kinoma's forum and there are people reporting "endless scanning". The theory is a certain file or files or file system that is corrupted that might be causing it and they are investigating.

Here's the thread if you want to take a look: Endless scanning (again) with the new Kinoma's update - Kinoma Forum

I won't try and "sell" you on Kinoma. I have 4GB of music and pictures and video that I scan OK. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.

I've been using GSPlayer about a month and like it (despite some quirks). Chose it because it is free and has an AAC (m4a) plugin (I have a lot of AAC format music in iTunes I don't want to convert to mp3). [Don't anyone get your dander up about iTunes; I don't endorse it but it is convenient, that's all]. If you have mostly mp3's, there are several good players as mentioned around the forum.
Using iTunes Agent, Softick Card Export (unfortunately, not free), and iTunes Export, I can sync iTunes to my storage card and convert iTunes playlists to m3u playlist that GSPlayer reads. Can provide more details on how that works if someone wants.

I had GSplayer back on my i730. it had a very dated GUI. Has it been updated to be more modern? And yea, itunes/ipods just have good GUIs... that's about it..

I like Conduit's Pocket Player. The latest version (4.1) is a little more finger-friendly. It's not free though.
