I've got the OEM TV Out cable on order from a guy I found through google and ebay. Its coming from Germany so it might be a little while - but I'll post more when I get it.
The silicone case adds enough thickness to the Omnia that it won't fit in the plastic i730-like belt holster clip (the Omnia fits in pretty tightly as it is, not as effortlessly as the i730 fit in its holster clip but then you're probably less likely to knock it lose as I did with my i730 a number of times).
The silicone case makes for a much more secure grip on the Omnia, otherwise a bit of a slippery little devil. Somewhat harder to get at the synching, charging, headphone adapter cover with the case on. But the case is elastic, very easy to slip on and off.
So what to do for a carrying case if I want the silicone cover. As an old i700 user, I still have my EBcases i700 Co-Pilot case, which looks a little like this:
(don't know that it's the same one now as my original)
The carrying case protects the camera lens, which would be facing outward and exposed in the plastic holster. There is enough room in my old i700 case with the Omnia lying on its side to fit the "lipstick case" stylus in at the top of the Omnia. Both are easy to put in and pull out of the case together.
Another advantage of the silicone case on the Omnia is that it puts a few mm between the camera lens and any surface that you put the Omnia down on. There is a little mm dimple on the Omnia back just to either side of the lens but it doesn't put much distance between the lens and any surface its on.
The silicone case adds enough thickness to the Omnia that it won't fit in the plastic i730-like belt holster clip ....

Another slight disadvantage of the silicone case is the bottom top edge gets somewhat in the way of thumb scrolling down with the optical mouse. You can still scroll down but the thumb hitting the edge of the silicone case makes for a little hesitation or hiccup in your intent to scroll smoothly-an annoying irritation.

Hi, folks!
What a silicon case are you all talking about? Is it a particular one from VRW store or from any third parties? Are there any difference bitween different kinds of Omnia silicon skins?
Thanks.

Sorry, Seira. I'm referring to the official black Vzw silicone case. It covers the back, all of the buttons (has "labeled" ridges there), leaves open the front face, the camera and flash, the stylus attachment point, the reset hole, and the microphone hole on the bottom edge.
I really like it -but it's a great dust magnetic. My theory on how the camera lens stays clean-all the crap goes to the case! I have to remove the case to use my official Vzw belt clip holster when I go to the gym (don't want to soak the leather EBcase with sweat) and will probably have to remove the case to mount the Omnia in my car ProClipUSA holder. I ordered the i900 ProClip mount as the i910 dimensions seem to be ~identical.
What are you folk using for screen protectors? I still have the piece of plastic that covered the Omnia when I got it. Guess it might even better as a touch-sensitive device if I removed it!
pw-man,
Did you order this cable?
Samsung OEM TV Out RCA Cable for Samsung U900 FlipShot - AATCS10CBE
I should have this on my door step sometime on December 1st. That seemed to be the cable that worked for the GSM version. I'll confirm if this one works for me and if the TV-Out works as advertised.
I got my TV out cable today. So far, all I can get to work is Audio. Each time I run the TV OUT program it takes me to file explorer that doesn't a recognize any files. It only sees folders. But if I simply hook up the cable and play a song it goes through the TV's speakers. I'll keep playing with it to see if I can get anything to work with video.
Scratch that. Cable works great on my other TV. So, it works on my samsung LCD TV but not on my Vizio Plasma TV. By the way, you have to have the phone in landscape mode to pass the video to the TV. Didn't show anything in Portrait mode.

Yeah - I believe that is it Original Samsung TV/AV Kabel f Samsung i900 i900v Omnia - got it from an Ebay seller as at the time, I didn't know you could get it from Verizon. Hasn't come yet, so I'll report in once it does...
Just cam across this company selling expensive cases for the Omnia. They are pretty cool and you can customize them, but the price is a little much. I still may get one, but not sure yet.

I had a vaja case back in the day for my i700... Great build quality and nice materials. Definetly high end - not sure a flip style case is what I want now a days, given the ultra light weight and smaller size - I'd just as soon throw the phone in my pocket. So I have a couple of form fitting covers on order to see how they might work...

I look to do the same as far as the ProClip goes. In general, do we all think that anything advertised as an accessory for the i900 will work for the i910? Car chargers, etc.?

I would also try Fortte cases! Leather PDA cases, PDA case - Stylish Elegant Functional leather PDA cases and handheld cases by Fortte. I got mine back when I had my i730 a couple years ago. Used it throughout my i730 days and the i760 I got last November. It’s a SOLID case that is customizable and you can even have them engraved. Think mine was $50 engraved w/swivel clip. The Omnia is a "tad" loose in it (I think because the 730 stretched it a bit and the Omnia is a bit smaller than the i730 and i760).
For screen protection; Without the screen being recessed, it's easier to apply a wider range of protective covers. My favorites are actually the Palm brand multi-screen packs - they don't leave a residue, easy to cut and apply. The Fellowes protectors are too stiff and actually adhesive, which leaves a ring of gum around the screen.
I've ordered the Invisishield protector package (the one that covers all surfaces, and supposedly makes it nearly impervious to damage.) I'll post something in this thread or another about how it performs!

Thanks for the tip, Gary. I have some Palm screen protectors, too, and I really like them. I'll give them a shot. Be interested to hear if you find anything you like better.
