Here is a Krusell case I just got & it is great! You can take the flap off if you want and use the phone with case on and never take it out. Best one I have found so far!
I tried a different case which has a similar cross leather piece across the front of the unit above the dpad which made it basically unusable.
So far I have two cases (I'll write up about them once I can get end of year crap at work behind me..) Both are the two-piece over the device type. The one has the center cross member that covers the samsung logo, the other does not... I prefer the one without, even though it is not quite the same level of build as the other (minor little things, honestly), to work the d-pad you need room to "throw" your thumb around...
jonv and Ykim,
When I ordered mine on 12/11, I am almost positive that they did not offer the i910 version. I would have certainly remembered seeing the two different products and clearly I know the difference. Could that be the case? That they have just recently began offering the i910? I will probably receive mine in the mail today and plan to call and ask them for an exchange with free shipping.
Just a thought.

The leather piece does require a little getting used to but it is pretty easy for me. The great thing is that it is an open top so I can still take it out if I need to do a lot of work with-best of both worlds to me! Most other cases you have to take the phone out any way.
It's true - I removed the front shield and it came off cleanly. I couldn't keep it on because it made handwriting impossible. Left the remaining sides on, though - put the Palm PDA shield on the screen.

Thanks for the tip. I have written Zagg to say I could only find the i900 shield as I looked for the i910 and I'm not happy with the result and asking if we could work out a solution. I'll post their answer.
The things I don't like about the case in the picture at the link above is that it's made for the i900, not the i910. That means it has the little "hole" at the top right corner for the camera lens that only exists on the European version. I also wish the stitching was black instead of white and that the speaker holes on the back weren't covered. I do like how it has a little stylus holder. I can't imagine why Samsung didn't make the stylus tuck into the phone itself.
Has anyone seen something like what I'm looking for?
I'm half tempted to make one myself since I'll hopefully only have to do it once for the 2-year contract life of my phone. If I end up making it and can make it look as professional as a store bought version, would anyone be interested in purchasing one from me? What would you pay for such a creature? I guess I'd put it at ebay.
I'd really prefer that someone else come up with such a thing than for me to have to make it. I can't understand why Verizon doesn't have fitted leather cases for the i910 at the store already. Every other phone I've ever owned had a fitted leather case with swivel.
Thanks for any and all thoughts on the above,

Thanks GDC. I saw that post earlier. It is close to what I'm looking for too. I definitely can't have the top open, even if it is a tight fit. I'm not going to risk having a phone this expensive drop out. I don't care for the flap either, which is the only way to make sure it doesn't drop out with this case.
Has anyone else seen anything close? Anyone else interested in a case like I described? Mabye we can get a manufacturer to start making them.
Boxwave stand for Omnia with spare battery charger
Hi, folks
I ended up getting the Boxwave stand with spare battery charger directly from Boxwave because shipping was cheaper than having Amazon.com serve as an intermediary: Omnia i900 Cradle / Samsung Omnia i900 Cradle - Desktop Cradle (2nd item, $52.95, w/o shipping)
I am happy with the charger/sync stand. Appears well made. The label on the box says "Desktop Cradle with Spare Battery Charger-i900 U.S." - so it's been around, not fresh and untested. There are NO instructions in the box but it's simple to figure out. It's a little box 4 in deep, 3.5 in wide, and about 7/8th in tall not counting the holder. The holder is a wrap-around piece of plastic, open in the front, that forms a slot into which you slide the bottom of the Omnia. It's a close fit so if you have a protective coating on your Omnia, the Omnia might not fit in. I have to remove my silicone case to get the Omnia in. The slot on the left side has a cut-out almost all the way down for the power/sync adapter cable built into the top of the stand. This short cable is stored pressed into a groove in the top of the stand (see 1st pix above), wrapping around the back of the spare battery charging slot to the other side. To charge and sync your Omnia you pull this cable out of its groove and plug it into the side of the Omnia. The Omnia adapter slot cover has to be pulled out at a little bit of a crazy angle because of the thickness of the holder - you wonder whether the slot cover will eventually break off but with the i700 there was the famous debate whether the sync cover was needed for protection on the bottom of the i700 and a bunch of us just took it off despite dire warnings to the contrary. My i700 is still working... Another "how long will it last" item is the built-in sync/power cable is a little stiff - to go from stored away to plugged into the side of the Omnia takes a little bit of torsion (not much). You wonder as time goes by whether the cable eventually will give way to metal fatigue. Four pads on the bottom of the box probably cover 4 screw holes - looks like the bottom of the stand could come off for repairs.
The power adapter cord is about 4.75 ft long and plugs into the back. Put on your laser protective goggles when you do this as the LEDs are VERY BRIGHT. There is an LED on the power plug to indicate power, a blue LED on the top left front of the stand that also apparently only indicates power, and a spare battery LED on the right rear top. Spare battery LED is constantly flashing yellow/red with no battery, changes to red with discharged battery, turns green when fully charged. The spare battery goes in with the connectors facing front (the part that's near your microSDHC slot in your Omnia itself). There is a shallow depression on either side of the stand flanking the rear sides of the spare battery slot. Requires some fingernail effort to pry the spare battery out and maybe turning the stand sideways so you are not lifting against gravity would help.
There is a 47 in. sync cord, standard USB connector on one end, mini-USB on the other. Connects the stand (mini-USB slot on back, see 1st pix above) to your PC. Through internal electronics of the stand, the sync/power adapter cable built into the top of the stand can both charge and sync your Omnia at the same time.
Unlike the spare battery LED, the power LED in the front of the stand never changes. Your Omnia beeps when fully charged. An exclamation point with a circle around it appears in the top middle left of the task bar, and a NOTIFICATION down at the bottom left. When you click on the notification, a popup entitled Information with the message "Charging is Complete" is obtained. So if you miss the initial beep, it's not going to be obvious when charging is done.
The plastic holder is mounted onto the Omnia through two little posts that fit snugly into holes in the top of the stand in a bayonet insertion. You can remove the holder for travel so it doesn't protrude above the stand. The fact that only two little posts hold the holder in place and the length of the Omnia provides a lot of leverage means that when you go to press on the top of the Omnia in the stand, there is a lot of wiggle. With your left index finger grabbing the top of the Omnia and your ring finger and pinkie grabbing the back of the stand, you can steady the Omnia and finger touch, use the stylus, etc.
So all in all, I'm happy with my purchase. Fulfills my basic desire to have a way to simultaneously recharge the Omnia and a spare battery in anticipation of periods of heavy duty use without the opportunity to recharge.
Cheapskate alternative to the Boxwave cradle: Rolodex Mesh Business Card Holder by ROLODEX
It stands the Omnia up at just the right angle, and you plug your existing power cord in the side as you would the Boxwave. Got one for $2.50 at WalMart.
I was very skeptical ordering anything this cheap ($1.39!) from a company in Hong Kong, but the holster is of decent quality and shipped fast. Also got an OEM Samsung data/charge cable for $7.00. Site says last day to buy at 80% off, but its said that for the last 2 weeks.

Jim, what spare battery are you using in the cradle. Did you get an extended one? Just interested in some data as to whether the extended batteries work. If so, where did you get yours?

Hi, wtherrell
My spare battery is just a Vzw-purchased Samsung replacement battery - there is a rumor on a difference in "31" vs "20" batteries: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsu...tml#post770420
Hope dkfif edits the Howard forums link into his original post
I wanted to get thoughts on buying a car charger for my Omnia i910.
With my employee discount, I can get it from Verizon for $22.49. I'm seeing third-party chargers for way less ($6, $9, $12). Should I stick with a real Verizon charger or can I trust these cheapo versions?
