I would like to watch the movies I have converted to play in itunes on my 730. I have searched and tried the things listed. Many of the links are old and no longer work. I have downloaded tcmp or something like that. The video portion plays fine but the sound is not there. When I first attemp to load the movie I get a message saying that aac audio is not supported that it was removed from the program.
What is available out there WITHOUT have to reconvert my current movie collection?
I did everything above (correctly as far as I know) - got the TCMP plugin etc., but any time I try to play an iTunes configured video it seems like the i730 can't handle it. It stutters and pauses and will not play smoothly. I just think there is too much processing necessary. Please someone let me know if I should give it another try.
I would just transcode the video via MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder
Fantastic conversion open source app. I'm attaching the preset I use for converting video for the i730. If someone has a better configuration please share it.

So I tried to download the codec. Everything went fine as far as the download went and it appeared to be installed on the device. At least it went through the installation procedure.
When I try to play the video it give me the message that acc was not included in the program.
the videos will play, but they'll be choppy an my video pauses while the audio continues etc.
Figured I'd just throw this out there: Are you running any apps (SD's autostep, xcpuscalar, etc) to ensure that your Processor is running at full speed (520mhz)?
Yeah, SD's Autostep - i don't mind really as converting the little videos takes no time at all really. There are a couple video podcasts I'd like to be able to play asis (configured for iPod) mp4s etc. I could try it again.
*it seems to work now - so just follow those instructions - these are not protected files so that may be the problem that sparked this thread.

Another method is to look for them in flash on youtube... Go to ytpocket YouTube Pocket. They have links to download the Coreplayer and a flash(flv) plugin... Once configured, you find the video on ytpocket, click on it and the streaming video will open/ start playing in the Coreplayer...
Has anyone gotten the you tube thing to work with TCPMP version 0.81? I downloaded it from the web, which didnt have an installer.. just a folder with the player.exe and plg files in it..
Even after manually installing the flash plugin, when i open the player.exe, goto extensions, i dont have a flash extension option in there (its opening windows media player)..
EDIT: Actually.. i'm gettin an error file not found on most videos after installing the flv plugin.. or.. i'm getting MMS protocol not supported in the TCPMP program if it does find it (its checked off under file extensions).

Any thoughts
Try closing and restating the program. Then go to "2. Installing the Plugins
Next you must install the Flash plugins for TCPMP. Make sure you install the plugin in the same place as the player (Device or Storage Card).
TCPMP FLV Plugin (PDA & Smartphone)
3. Setting the proper Protocols
Whew, the hard part is now over, lets get to the setting up! First open TCPMP and press 'Options -> Settings'. From the screen that brings you to press 'Select Page -> File Associations'. On the bottom of this page you will see both 'Flash Video' and 'MMS Protocol', make sure both of them are checked. If you don't see both of these settings, you may need a soft reset. Once they are both checked, keep the settings open and move onto step 4.
4. Setting the Buffering
The buffering could make or break your YouTube Pocket experiance, so let's make sure you set it properly. While still in the settings page click 'Select Page -> Buffering'. here you will see some buffering options, you want them to be as listed below:
Normal buffer size: 1148KB
Preload at underrun: 5%
Preload for audio: 64KB "

I've gone through all this.. again.. i have version 0.81.. after installing the plugin for flash.. i dont see "flash video" in the file extensions section..
However..
It is partially working but i'm gettin an error "file not found" on most videos on that you tube website after installing the flv plugin.. or.. i'm getting MMS protocol not supported in the TCPMP program if it does find it (its checked off under file extensions).
From time to time you get an error message... Some of the files have different coding. FLV Downloader lets you download the files to your pc, which you can put on a memory card and then watch on your phone...

Oh.. well i thought the purpose of using TCPMP was to be able to view them directly from a web page? Or this just doesnt work in all cases or maybe not with 0.81.. is anyone using 0.81?

Some of the videos are in a larger format than say 320 by 240 and because of that you get an error message when you try to play them. A lot of the flash video sites, and even Itunes are putting out movies like this for viewing on widescreen HD / TV sets...

Well.. just for kicks i downloaded the flv downloader tool.. went to you tube.. downloaded an flv... put it on the i730.. opened it with 0.81 TCPMP.. and TCPMP says.. "invalid file format" and wouldnt play it..
To me this sounds like it doesnt know what to do with the extension, either because 0.81 doesnt work.. or my version that i found of 0.81 didnt have a cab installer.. only the installed directory?

I have no problem with this... Did you install the flash(flv) plugin into the same folder as TCPMP and then go into the File Association part of the Options and check the box for Flash? This is a stretch, but are you sure you installed the PPC vs the Smartphone version of the software?

That was the ticket.. apparently, the 0.81 installer cab i had.. puts it in a folder called something other than tcpmp... so when i ran the flv plugin, it put those 2 files in tcpmp, which isnt the right spot.. so i moved them and now all is working great.
