Contacts first and last name

Does anyone know how to have the contacts list someones first name first then the last name i hate how its Lastname, Firstname. I put everyones first and last name as just the first name but voice recognition that requires you to say the full name to match that request. Thanks

btw, the i730 came with VoiceSignal and i like it more then the prebuilt voice command 1.5 that my treo had, is the 1.6 better? What do you guys use VoiceSignal or Voice Command?

What os are you using? WM200se or WM5? There's a registry hack that works in WM2003se. If you need it I'll look for it. I'm running WM5 on my i730and have been told that I would need to use ContactBreeze or some SPB software to configure contacts to work the way you listed.

thanks dude, but i am on WM5 like you. I will not use a 3rd party program because i like the simplicity of the one that windows has. I'm sure there is a hack, thats ridiculous dude, why does the last name go first? Outlook has the options to have the first name first and the last name second but how come wm5 doesnt...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH someone please help

Theres a small program (7 kbs) that reverses it for you I believe you can still get it at PocketPCgeeks, and it's called Contacts Menu Extension.

The file is revealed as a ZIP file in the very first post - - if you are registered and signed in!

Not very apparent that you needed to do that - - took me a bit to figure it out!

They mention something about putting a comma at the end of the name in order to get it to list first name first..can't remember exactly where to put the comma..but I dunno if at some point that program scrambled my names, or if it was something else. Seems like anything and everything can potentially scramble the names and produce duplicate contacts..annoying but let us know how it works for you.

If you're using Outlook just set it to file as first name last name under options - then it will sync that way. - sheureka

Thanks sheureka,

I will go into my Outlook options and see if I can find out where to make this config change.

***

sheureka I did configure Outlook to use the "First Name Last Name" format. But I add contacts on the fly to my i730. I used the following example to save a contact to my i730, "A" as first name, then "B" as last name, my i730 saved it as B, A.

Outlook works find but 90% of the time I add contacts directly to my phone. I added this app the D7 linked and it still didn't work.

Yea putting the comma at the end of their name "first name-last name," THEN put the common at the end of the last name works to keep the first name last name dynamic work well.

Thank you D7,

I edited my post before I read your post. Shoot ..., I wanted to avoid using the comma but if thats the only way then thats what I'll do. Then in Outlook I'll delete the comma.

If I enter my contacts on the pc in outlook they will sync as first name first. If i enter the name through the pocket pc they will be last name first. The easiest way to do this without tweaks is enter the contact VIA the PC
