Talking Booyah! One HTC Touch Icon for ya right here!

It came out just gorgeous! See my screen shot below. I'd like to upload the icon file as well for my fellow Touch owners who want to try this but I'm not sure how. So for the time being, if you want it, just PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you. It's already been renamed as "sync.ico" so you can just plug it right in. Make sure you follow the instructions in the beginning of this thread (except for the parts about icon creation/renaming, etc., as it's already done for you).

Cool!

Well, I just upgraded to the HTC Touch Pro (Now I gota sell my Touch). Before I connected the Touch Pro I was just thinking "Oh, now I've gotta do this again..." but then, lo and behold, Windows Device Manager showed my device! Somebody at HTC obviously is aware of this little issue.

Cannot cut and paste the sync.ico file

When I try to cut and paste the sync.ico file into the windows folder on my PDA it comes back with an error whe I try to replace the sync.ico file already there.

Any idea how to avoid this and make this hack work?

This is a great thread and extremely helpful. I successfully changed the icon for my i760. I am now getting an i770. I tried to create my own icon but was unsuccessful. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Here's an image file. Thanks!

I think I figured out how to make my own icon file. Here's what I came up with for the Samsung Saga.

I don't know if your still doing this ... but I have an icon for the P4000 and P5310 (Tytn and Touch Dual) and can upload 'em to Image Shack or Rapidshare or some such if anyone would like ...
