i think im the only one it didnt work for... i followed all instructions as was and when i uninstalled the driver from device manager and then plugged back in my phone, it says that windows cant find specified driver
so i uninstalled wmdc and reinstalled it. No such luck. I read more of the board and realised that it was saved as sync.ico.ico, so i renamed it on the 8525, so it was now showing sync.ico. After this, no such luck. It would still sync however, but i was not able to have access to the browse my device feature. So i mistakenly deleted the sync.ico file and now then my device wont sync with wmdc. When i plug in my phone, all im seeing is error. So what i then did was downloaded the zip file from this site and used my storage card to get it into the windows folder. So now i have a SYNC.ICO file in my windows folder, however, when i plug in the phone, on the wmdc, all i see is error. Any help or ideas on what to do??
i did a system restore and i got the driver back.. i am in two minds of trying this again.... should i really or is it a must that i uninstall the driver the instructions said to install?
If you follow the instructions step-by-step it should work without issue. I have done this on many different computers, and never had a problem on any device. Make sure your file is named correctly and make sure you put it in the right place.

question
when i Right click in the background of this window and hit "PASTE" and it pastes, should i see an image of the phone before the word sync or should i see something with the windows logo on it.
or basically what i am trying to ask is that, should you see the phone icon before the word sync, because i am not seeing the icon of the phone.. i did see it, when i extracted it to my desktop tho.
well it happened again, when i plugged back in the device, it said that windows can not find the driver that i need ( the one that i uninstalled).. I really have no idea what i am doing wrong and i guess i gotta do my system restore again...
thanks anyways
I added the Audiovox SMT5600 and the HP RW6800 to the list above - See post #5.

it's an oldy phone but it has been one of the most stable MS Smartphones I've ever used. I've had it since the day it came out and used it off on on for years....
I would love to say that it is working fine, but I can't. I recently got my iPaq replaced and now when I follow the instructions it displays the Atom icon I was using before. No matter how many times I follow the instructions it just doesn't work. Any possible solutions?
First remove/delete all partnerships from your computer, this will clear the cache of partnerships. Uninstall Vista Mobile Device Center, reboot. Reinstall WMDC and then do everything from scratch...

Travis, I will try to get to it when I return home. I am out of town for the weekend and don't have the software loaded on my laptop.
If you don't see this by Tuesday night, please bump the thread as a reminder.
