Buying from Handango
This has been brought up before, and previous threads resulted in closures because of flames, so keep it nice and friendly here, and joking to a minimum.
Here is the original thread:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsu...ngo-again.html
I felt it was necessary to again bump this topic because of this story I just read:
http://www.omnisoft.com/articles/handango/default.asp
If you are thinking about using Handango, please reconsider, as other choices are available. We have a personal relationship with Mobihand:
http://www.mobihand.com/pdaphonehome
and this would be a good place to shop, as well as:
http://www.pocketgear.com
I used to purchase all my software from Handango, and will ONLY use it as a last resort to purchase software not offered at any other location. Please take a few minutes to read this information and file it away.

As a frequent buyer of PPC software, I wholeheartedly agree. Handango is my last resort. If I can't find it somewhere else, I usually check the programmer's website and see if I can paypal them (which they usually appreciate). Handango is not customer friendly and really rips off the programmers.

Up to this point the Handango issue didn't really bother me but this kind of blatant abuse is uncalled for and completely unscrupulous. If I were to run my Department, Business, Life in this manner I would end up broke and on the streets. I will be shopping some where that honors there word as it was stated not at a whim and a hope business practice.
John I'll be buying something from you just to help keep you up and running until you can reestablish your customer base.

I stopped using Handago based on the informaiton/experiences provided here.. I made my last purchase "Space Re-claimer" from Pocketgear.com, and I could not be happier..
After performing a hard reset, my certificate # would not work.. Cust. Service replied to my email w/ in 15 minutes and provided a new one for me immediately.
No extra charge to re-install a piece of software I already purchased..
Good luck.

First the extra download protection rip-off and now this. No more Handango for me.

John I didn't know you frequented by here. Sorry to hear this happened to you, and I voiced it here to everyone else to know about it. Thanks for the updates on it, and hopefully companies like this will learn they shouldn't treat partners and customers like they do.

I hope someone with ties to Microsoft makes sure they know this kind of issue is happening with Handango. The fact that Handango is the only place to get Voice Command on-line is annoying. MS really should be aware that they have allied themselves apparently exclusively with a company with questionable business practices (download fees, now this).

I sent an e-mail to Handango with a link to this thread, and every Handango thread I could find that explains the true story when I found out Voice Command was only | | | |
