I read about it when it was at CES. It's similar to something like the OQO, but no keyboard. It's a good idea, but essestially it's a small PC. It's not available, and they don't know when it will be available.

It was presented before Microsoft had released the UMPC, so they are trying to make it compete with it. I still don't think people are ready for small PC's like this. The battery life is still poor, and until accurate Voice Recognition is out, I don't think they will sell well.

What they say the specs, don't fully believe them. OQO listed some specs and they were adjusted when it was finally released.

It is an interesting concept, but I don't think people are ready for a small PC running Windows.

Yup, but it's got Cingular EDGE G2 WWAN. Doesn't run much better than 1XRTT. Now if it had VZW or Sprint EVDO I’d be more interested.

There is a model UX90 that is available in Japan that has a CF slot instead of the WWAN that sounds like a better deal, but it's more expensive and only has WinXP Home. Then you can just tether it to a RAZR, and for most uses, the throttling inherent with BT tethering shouldn't be a problem. For larger downloads you could tether it with USB.

I found a B&M that had one in stock, and browbeat the salesman into opening a box so I could heft it. I was a little disappointed by the chunkiness of the thing. It’s just not small enough to be a viable PDA replacement.

I’m thinking the OQO might be a bit closer, but when you read the reviews it comes up a little short on the horsepower side. Even the guys over at http://www.oqotalk.com/ are whining about how slow it is.

The guys over there are speculating about an Model 02 that's supposed to be coming out, that one should be more competitive with the Sony ... we'll see.
