I use verizons wireless sync on my i730 but only use it to sync contacts every now and then. My question is how can I stop wireless sync from starting on startup and just launch it when I need it? is there a reg. setting because its not in startup.

I think its in "Start Menu"

There is a link in \Windows\Startup. Just move the link to some other folder or delete it.

Start MENU, not StartUP Cut and paste it to somewhere else.

I cut it from that location and paste it on the root and it still launches at start

Unless they've changed something in the past few months, the SyncClient.lnk file in the \Windows\Startup folder is how Wireless Sync starts at boot.
If you manually open Wireless Sync, it will continue to sync as long as you have it set to do so.
