disabling the volume control button

Did a search on this but could not find anything. Does anyone know how to dismantle the up/down volume control on the side of the phone? I am having problems with volume being lowered to silent while it rests in its case...due to the pressure from the case. This actually is a new problem as I haven't had to deal with this for nearly the first 3-4 months of owning the case. I do always keep the key lock on but also use a bluetooth headset to talk while in the case. And I use phone alarm to preset all volume levels, etc.
