The i730 in my opinion is the best pda phone out there, bar none, and has been like that ever since I got mine, over one year ago. I've had ups and downs, mostly ups by a large margin, but I've gotten to a point where I really needed something smaller. I tried the Q about one month ago, and within exactly 6 hours I returned it to the store and went back to the 730.
A few days ago I got a regular phone from Verizon, the LG Chocolate and I couldn't be happier. You see, in the back of my mind I always expected the same features from the Q than from the 730, even though I realized it was a smartphone and not a full-featured PDA phone. So I realized that I needed a radical departure, and no subconscious mind will take the Chocolate for a PDA phone. Seeing it for what it is, a phone first and foremost, I settled for it. I missed the 730 for a day or so, and then it went away. I find, since I no longer have a PDA phone, that I am more free to do other things, since I have no email, useable IM and web on the phone. Like stop and smell the roses, figuratively speeking.
I want to thank all of you here for your help, and for bringing the best out of the 730. I have yet to see another device holding the pinnacle of its type even after it's been released for well over one year.
Anyone else thinking of going this route, should check out the LG VX 9800. Sort of looks like the tmobile sidekick, and can be gotten with wireless sync email, internet, has a nice qwerty keyboard and pretty large screen on the inside, and a miniSD slot for music and files. Easy to operate, about as bulky as the 730, but about half as wide, much lighter, and no antenna.
