WOW do i hope so! One of my clients just got the i830 after seeing my i730 and he is just not getting how to use wm2003se! i had almost forgotten what 2003se was like - wm5 is SO MUCH easier to use than wm2003se! thankfully i had mrailings setup guide to follow to setup a 2003se device again! i will be watching this thread VERY CLOSELY now!

what does the i730 do about not having softkeys? I always wondered that and how that will affect using the phone with WM5.

They changed the i830 page on dts.vzw.com, they also removed the "Download ePIM" link.. but still no WM5. Blah.

the context menu button and the launcher button become the soft keys and then using mrailings cab files will give you a program that allows you to customize the soft keys.

I just hard reset last night. This pda is prrring like a kitten with a bowl of milk right now.. so with my luck.. WM5 should be released next week.

EDIT:

Actually if I just had A2DP.. I'd leave it as is.

Hope it's still coming. Any updated status would be greatly appreciated. Purchased a i830 and was told it would ship with WM5. It didn't, so now I'm faced with deciding to return within the satisfaction guarantee period OR hanging on and hope the upgrade is eventually available. Would definitely keep it if I know it's coming.

I know, it's August already. I'd say it shouldn't be too much longer, but from what everyone went through with the i730 and release dates it's really a crap shoot. Who knows? does VZW even know?

Has anyone heard anything? It doesn't look like there are to many people interested in getting the update.

JC
When I bought one for my company it was promised by my B2B rep that they would be releasing it sometime soon. That was back in May.

Can you ask your B2B rep? If he doesn't have any update see if he has a friend some where in their tech department and ask for the PST Lite i830 DLL file, we'll just upgrade ourselves

I might not be the only one but I would seriously consider exchanging my i730 for the i830 to help with traveling to Europe.

I've been waiting for this upgrade for since I got rid of my i730. I needed the gsm but I'm wandering if I made a mistake. After having wm5 you realize how much this device is lacking. I'm sure there are a lot more people watching this thread than you think.
