It won't be cut off if you add the spaces at the end of your Value data, like M/d*space**space**space* or however many spaces work for you. If you don't add the spaces things start getting cut off or else some funky squares start showing up near where the close button is. At least that's what happened to me.

It shouldn't. Not with the additional spaces after the date. That's the key. It seems that they is something else at the end of the date. If you set the TBOpt to be 2, you will see a little veritcle line at the end of the date. I think the date centers on that field, and since there seems to be something on the end, it's also including it in the center. So by adding the 3 spaces it gives it enough room to center.

I will get this all put in to a cab file, and have two options, a long date, and a short date

Here are two files. Download the one you want to use to the PC, rename the extension from .TXT to .CAB and copy it to your phone. Run the file on the phone.

MRailing Long Date-Time Toolbar Fix.Cab - This will modify the Toolbar on the Today Screen to show the Date and Time. The date will be in this format (04/16/06).

MRailing Short Date-Time Toolbar Fix.cab - This will modify the Toolbar on the Today Screen to show the Date and Time. The date will be in this format (04/16).

Once installed, soft reset the phone and it will be there. If you want to change between them to see, you can do that and it will prompt to remove the other one first, and then install the other. Also this can be uninstalled by just going to remove programs in the Settings menu.

I have tested both on my phone and both work. (This is a WM5 fix)

Question date format behavior changed on PIM after registry change

Can anyone confirm this?

If I create an appt. using either calendar or Webis Pocket Informant; the date given is on the mm/dd format, the year is no longer there... I'm wondering if the year is still embedded on the data (and just not being displayed), or if this will have any consequences on same day/diff year events

It's because you are changing the format of the date. If you read on XDA forums, they say that it changes the short date EVERYWHERE.

Yes but does it just affect the display of the date or the actual storage of the date. I would like to do the display hack, but don't want to mess up the storage info. I am still fighting some of the changes that other 3rd party PIMs added top Outlook when I was on a Palm device.

It affects just the display of the date. The date is still whole in the "backend". Basically with the second part of the hack you are saying, show short date as "M/dd/yy*spacespacespace*" instead of the normal M/dd/yy. Or you are showing it without the year. The date will still be transferred correctly to the computer and stored in Outlook.

I answered my own question:

Settings->System->Clock & Alarms
Click on the "More" tab on the bottom

Check the one and only box that says
"Display the clock on the title bar in all programs"

Now, whatever you are doing, there is the clock. Yeah!

--John

P.S. I am not sure of the "More" tab was there prior to doing the Registry Hack.

The reputation system has an anti-cheating hack in place. You have to give it to more people before you can give it to someone again. This makes sure you don't have multiple accounts that you give to yourself on multiple posts.

Just give to lots of people, say around 15 and then you can give to someone again. Also you can only give so much per day. I gave out the maximum per day for almost three weeks straight when we released the new system, and I constantly get the "spread the love message". Seems there are some key people that post, and everytime I click it, I keep hitting those people....

I also found this little today plug-in on the TreoCentral 700W site.

It has a lot of options on how the date and time look, and it's very small.

i installed the cab and checked the more box in clock settings and it shows date and time in everything BUT the today screen. infact the today screen shows like this funny jargon where the battery icon was/supposed to be, its like something is ontop of the batteryicon on the today screen

I have the same problem - date/time everywhere but the Today screen... I can clearly see a 5 overlaying the battery icon, so I'm assuming it's showing the date and battery icon overlapped (with no time).

I'd love to see this work - it looks great on the other screens

Which one did you use, the LVMTime.zip above, or the one I posted in #44?

Also mcq3000, this only works if your phone is AKU2.2, and as far as I know the 6700 is NOT AKU2.2, it's AKU2. We lucked out on the i730 as it seems that the hacked version we have is AKU2.2 and not AKU2. So if you are trying this on your 6700, it (EDIT: Probably) won't work...
